Chapter 2

January 26th 20XX

Tokyo, Japan

Underground Subway Tunnels

3:30 PM

It was around 35 years ago the Underground Subway Tunnels had been sealed off from the rest of Tokyo, a project that was supposed to increase transportation but the project was always shaky and it was never finished. Considering the increase in the entire countries population it seemed like it would work, however unexpected things happen all to often. Now those who were thrown out by their families and society itself lived inside, however they knew things as the criminal underworld gave supplies to the people in the form of knowledge.

Hawks wanted to forget his ties to the past, by going down here he was reliving the memories from his childhood he wanted to keep deep inside of himself. He was a hero now and he was only here for information.

Hawks was looking for the informant and in order to find him he would have to go deep. Deep meant down, far down under the main tunnels. Level's upon levels of darkness and damp, thick air. He kept his head down as he scanned the people who were huddled together, the people gave him quick glances, most likely to size him up. Hawks ignored them as he continued to walk down the tunnels. It truly felt like the tunnels were like a sauna, hot, damp yet cold somehow. It was as if even the laws of nature had left these people.

Keeping his emotions, thoughts and opinions in check he came to a service door, knocking 4 times the door open to reveal a small boy with white hair on the left side of his head and black hair on the right. His name was Domino, not much was known about him other than his obsession with domino. Domino's quirk was unknown, it was possible that he was quirkless, Hawks personally assumed that Domino enjoyed the mystery surrounding him. Hawks was the exception, he knew all about Domino and he knew for a fact that this would not be a smooth encounter

Domino: So your back, what do you want

Hawks: I'm here to cash in a favor

Domino: Another assignment huh?

Hawks: It's about the

Domino: Yeah i figured you'd go after them when they got big, They are called The Lucky Seven

Hawks: Why are they called The Lucky Seven?

Domino: I would say why do you think but I'll give you an explanation. The rumors say that the leader has the luck of seven men, hence the name, and before you ask I don't know his identity. However if you got the cash I know someone who does.

Hawks: We both know I have the money

Domino: It's not your money, we both know that. You sold out your own father

Hawks: Stop talking about my father

Domino: Fine enjoy your hero money, but remember deep inside you are one of us

Hawks: I'm not, I kept your secrets didn't I

Domino: For how long?

Hawks: I thought we were going to forget that and move on

Domino: Just go to the docks, 8th warehouse past the tallest red crane

Hawks: Domino we can talk about this

Domino: No we won't, this was your last freebie, now leave and go solve your crime you wannabe detective

Hawks: Thank you Domino

Domino just turned away from Hawks, the tension in the room was high, and as much as Hawks would have wanted to fix things between him and Domino it was not the time. For now at least, he would have time later in his lifetime.

*Author's Note*

Domino was an OC who I had though of for this book, Hawks's backstory, his ties with being related to a criminal are deeply rooted in his motivations and this was a must have for the book. This new section of the criminal underworld is essential to Hero Society's overall plot and this book will not be the last time we see Domino.
