"Oops," Peyton smirks. Hardin turns around to see what she is smirking at.

"Josie! Wait! It's not what it looks like!" He shouts, but I can't hear anything. I am completely frozen, paralyzed by my world coming crashing down.

Before my mind can make sense of what I just witnessed, my body responds. I run as fast as I can out of that house. I run and I run until I'm sure I'm far enough away from him. I can't believe he cheated on me and with her of all people. My world is crashing down around me. I feel like every bone in my body is broken. Every muscle inside being ripped apart. And my heart is laying shattered at my feet. This has to be a nightmare. This can't be real. Hardin would never cheat on me. But this is real and that's exactly what he did. I pull out my phone and call the one person I know I can trust.

"Hello."

"Jackie," my voice breaks.

"I'm on my way."

I hang up the phone and sit down on the curb. I bring my legs to my chest and cry. I feel so broken, so shattered. The one person I truly loved in my life, the one person who made me the happiest, just took everything and shattered it into million little pieces. The pain is suffocating and I find myself gasping for air. Jackie pulls up and gets out of the car.

"What happened?" she asks worried by my tear stained face. Make up running down my cheeks.

"He..he cheated on me with Peyton. I saw them kissing."I sob into her.

"Josie," I hear his voice.

"No Hardin, you've done enough. Let her go," Jackie says and helps me get into the car.

"Jackie," he starts.

"No Hardin! Look at her! Do you see how broken she is? Why on earth would you do something like this? You know what I don't want to know. Just let her go."

Jackie gets in the car and drives away, leaving Hardin standing there watching as we drive away.
