I stared out the window and watched the bright lights of Los Angeles fade into the distance. I was on a plane to The Bahamas. Turbulence was almost nonexistent, making it peaceful. White noise filled the cabin. Technically it was supposed to be a business trip, but I certainly wasn't mad that it was in a tropical location. My flight had one layover in Texas, which wasn't too bad. I stretched, yawned, and slept -not exactly peacefully due to my uncomfortable position, squeezed by the seat next to me.

The sound of the intercom awoke me from my fitful sleep. The plane had arrived in Dallas; I got up and collected my luggage before rushing to my next flight.

I rushed through the airport, praying that I wouldn't miss my flight. I was beginning to regret my hasty stop for coffee. As I looked at my ticket to figure out where to go, I bumped into a tall man and my latte spilled all over the front of his white dress shirt. I looked up and my breath caught, he was gorgeous. Tan skin, soft brown hair, and deep brown eyes, he was a walking cliche.

"Watch it!" He said angrily, his deep voice laced with a southern accent.

"I-I'm so sorry, I'm late for my flight," I replied quickly. He just scowled. What's his problem? I rolled my eyes and moved on. My flight began boarding in only a few minutes! I ran up to the stewardess, out of breath, and showed her my ticket. I could finally relax, I walked to my seat and sat down. I began to watch a movie when someone sat down next to me. It was the same man I ran into before. "Hello again, I'm so sorry about your shirt. I'll gladly pay for it." I said politely. He merely grunted in response, he had changed his coffee-stained flannel and was now wearing a tight-fitting t-shirt that showed off his bulging muscles. Man, is he handsome. But I was quickly brought back to Earth after he rudely demanded peanuts from the flight attendant. The lady managed to keep a smile plastered on her face and handed him a little package of nuts, then turned to me.

"Hello, ma'am, can I get you anything?"

"I'll take some cheese puffs and a coke please."

"Why don't you pass on the coke sweetheart, I only have so many shirts for you to ruin." Said the man sitting next to me. I rolled my eyes. Who does he think he is?

"I said I was sorry, it was an honest mistake," I responded, frowning. Now it was his turn to roll his eyes.

The stewardess awkwardly handed me my cheese puffs and coke and continued down the aisle. I stared out the window, sipping my drink, lost in thought, watching the pale white and pink clouds pass beneath the plane. Slowly the peaceful scene lulled me to sleep once again.

The blare of the intercom pulled me from dreamland once again. I grabbed my luggage from the overhead compartment and exited the plane. The handsome jerk from before was already gone. Good riddance. I was ready to crash in my hotel room. After a long day of sleeping, I just wanted to sleep. The next day I was to board a charter boat and go to the island where my temporary office was. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.
