Backstory:
In the tower, where Ezra was, Damon was sacrificed by the workers for being the devil's child, an omen amongst them even though he was human and the workers thought his blood would make the tower be built faster. It instead aused him to be reborn stronger and he was found by Ezra at the bottom of one of the row boats and he has stuck to her side for decades.
