"Crane machine? Aren't you too old for this? And isn't it usually rigged?"

Karma just shrugs and inserts the coin.

"I am aware that it's probably rigged. So.."

"So..?"

"Wanna bet?"

"What is it this time?" Rio sighed.

"3 items, from this crane machine."

"Are you serious? How many plays are you going to—"

"Got one," Karma shoved the toy to Rio's face.

"How?! Don't tell me you this crane machine isn't actually rigged," Rio looked at the toy in disbelief

"Nah, it is rigged. Look," Karma points to a group of kids playing another crane machine not far from them.

"Aaargh. That's the 5th time already and still nothing!" the kid playing said while his friends laughed and usher him to play another game instead.

"So? Are you in this or not?" Karma asks flipping the coin.

"Does it look I have a choice? What do you want?"

"I'll tell you later," he said, already inserting the coin.

"I'm not doing a second pile of work though," Rio replied with an annoyed tone.

"It dropped. Too bad," Karma clicked his tongue.

"9 plays. 9 plays and that's it," Rio said.

"Fine."

"What? No way!"

"Oh really?" Rio gave Karma a skeptical look.

"Alright, alright. Maybe I have played that crane machine before. Just not here," Karma replied.

"Tch. Cheater," Rio pouted and walked faster, leaving Karma behind.

Karma just laughed and picked up his pace to walk beside Rio

"So what's next Ms. Akabane? Not giving up yet?" Karma teased.

Still not used with her new name, a tint of red appeared on her face. Rio may be looking forward, but she could actually feel the smirk on Karma's face right now.
