All Peter could think about that night was what happened in the school. He asked himself why he had done it, but he didn't have an answer. Why would he put himself in that much pain? Why would he worry the people he cared about so much? It's all your fault. His mind started saying. Peter started talking out loud. "Oh no." He said. Why are you always failing? He wanted to stop thinking about the voice, but couldn't. "Stop it." He said. He never realized that he was talking in his sleep. It should've been you. In that moment, the night in the ally way replayed in his head again. His heart rate increased. He tried to separate his hands from scratching his skin. He started having another flashback, replaying the time in the bathroom. Blood was everywhere. "Don't go." He said louder. He was never aware of what he was saying, nor how loud he said it. He wanted to open his eyes, but he couldn't. He started sweating as the memories continued. His brain kept speaking. If you were good enough, maybe she'd still be alive." When Peter heard that voice, he suddenly saw the last time he would ever speak to him. His brain kept blaming himself. You are a terrible person. He started shaking as this all went down in his head. "I don't wanna go." He said louder. Tony was walking by his bedroom when he said that. He was confused at first, but decided to go in. He slowly opened Peter's door and saw him shaking. He walked up to him. He tapped Peter on the arm to wake him up. "Hey, hey, hey, hey, Pete, it's me." Tony said. Peter suddenly woke up. He was panting, like he had been holding his breath for a long time. Peter put his head on his hands. "What happened kid?" Tony asked. "It's nothing." Peter said softly. "Don't tell me it was nothing, what happened?" Tony asked again. Peter lifted his head up, then looked down at his hands. He was silent. A tear came out of his eye. Tony hugged the boy. Peter was surprised that Tony would hug him, but he didn't mind. "You should probably get some sleep kid." Tony said while letting Peter go. Tony left him alone. Peter couldn't sleep the rest of the night, he didn't want to see the sights he saw in his head. He didn't want to have to deal with his brain telling him all of that stuff. He heard the other Avengers moving around and getting ready. Peter checked what day it was. It was Saturday. He smiled. He didn't want to go to school and he was too tired to learn. He got up and got ready. It was easier to get ready since the stitches and cuts weren't fresh. He decided to just wear sweatpants and a sweater. He walked out of his room to go get some breakfast. He was greeted by some of the Avengers when he walked through the halls of the tower. When he got to the kitchen, he looked around to see what was there. Tony walked up to him. "Hey Peter." He said. "Hi Mr. Stark." Peter replied. Peter was still getting used to the whole living in the Avengers Tower thing, but he loved it. "Can I talk to you later?" Tony asked. "What for?" Peter asked. He didn't know why Tony wanted to talk. Maybe he was mad at Peter. "Nothing super specific, I just want to talk to you." Tony replied. "Ok then, I guess." Peter said. He was confused. He thought about it all morning. What did he want to talk to Peter about? Morning passed quickly and everyone was just chilling. It was a weekend, so why not? Tony walked up to Peter, just looking over the railing. Tony made a sudden movement with his head, telling him to go to his room. Peter got nervous, he remembered that Tony wanted to talk to him. Tony shut the door behind him. "Ok Pete, you've gotta tell me what's been going on, because I can't understand and help you, if you don't tell me what's wrong." Tony explained. "Mr. Stark, it's-it's really nothing, seriously, I'm fine." Peter said in his nost convincing voice. Tony still didn't buy it. He was a terrible liar. "Don't tell me you're fine, ok, because I know you're not." Tony said. Peter looked away from Tony. He looked scared, like he was afraid to tell him. Tony felt bad for him. He knew Peter had been through a lot already, but he just wanted to help him. "It's just..." Peter started, "I don't know why I feel like this." Peter said. Tony was confused. "Feel like what?" Tony asked. He didn't know what Peter meant by that phrase. "I don't really like talking about it. I just want it to go away." Peter said. This made Tony even more confused. What did he want to go away? "What are you talking about?" Tony asked. Peter looked nervous. He started fiddling with his fingers, thinking of an answer. He didn't want to worry Mr. Stark. He stopped talking. "Peter, you gotta tell me something more specific than that." Tony insisted. "I don't wanna be a problem. Not just for you but for anyone." Peter said quietly. Tony was able to hear him. "Peter, you're not a problem, I've told you this before kid." Tony said. "C'mon, let's go on a walk." Tony said. They walked outside of Peter's room and walked out of the Tower. The other Avengers saw them and were curious as to why Tony cared so much about a kid. They were walking down the ally way. Peter started breathing heavily. Tony didn't know how Peter's aunt died, so he didn't know what bringing Peter to an ally would do. Peter looked around it. It felt familiar. It was the exact place that May died in. Peter saw dried up blood. A person came up to them from behind. It was a man in black clothes, the same type of clothes as the person who killed May. This person was taller though. They heard a gun load. Tony tapped his arc reactor and his suit appeared on his body. Peter didn't have his suit with him since he didn't expect to fight. Tony held a small pack and placed it on Peter's back, surrounding Peter's body with his metal suit. The person ran from them all the way to a storage facility. Peter and Tony followed closely behind. When they got there, a metal net fell on top of Tony. Peter ran towards him. "Mr. Stark!" He yelled, running towards him. "I'm fine kid, go stop the person so they can't escape." Tony said. Peter nodded and ran over to the person. The person started shooting bullets. Peter dodged most of them and the bullets that hit him bounced off of his suit. The person had high tech weapons that could kill Peter with one shot. The person directed their aim towards Peter and shot at his legs. He fell to the ground. Tony had finally gotten out of the chains and ran towards Peter. The person aimed the weapon at the pillars, making the ceiling and other debris fall ontop of Peter. Tony moved away from the wreckage. The person ran off away from the storage. Tony followed them, but they got in a van and drove off. Tony ran back over to the wreckage. "Peter!" He yelled. He moved some of the debris to see if he could get to Peter, but he was under the entire ceiling. "FRIDAY call the Avengers, tell them to come to this location!" Tony exclaimed, still trying to get the fallen debris away from Peter. The Avengers showed up and saw the pile of debris on the floor. They saw Tony and ran over to him. "What happened?" Steve asked. "There was a fight, Peter's down there!" Tony exclaimed. All of the Avengers tried lifting up the heavy debris until they got near the bottom. There, at the very bottom of the debris, lied an unconscious, injured Peter. They made a hole large enough to to be able to get down to Peter and gently pull him up. Tony jumped to the bottom of the pit and lifted up the debris that was crushing Peter. He slowly picked up Peter and handed him over to Steve. Tony got up out of the hole. He got down from the pile and ran down to Peter. He was lying down on the concrete. A million thoughts were going through Tony's head. How could he put Peter in this situation? Tony held onto Peter's arm. "Who's carrying him back to the Tower?" Nat asked. "I will." Tony said. The rest of the Avengers left and went back home. Tony stayed with Peter for a minute. "I'm so sorry kid." Tony said softly. He lifted Peter up, trying tk be cafeful with him. He flew back to the Tower with the unconscious Peter in his arms. The rest of the Avengers were waiting for them to arrive. Tony placed Peter on the empty couch. The other Avengers huddled around him. "Should we make him something to eat for when he wales up?" Wanda asked. "We don't know when he's going to wake up." Steve said. "If he does." Steve continued quietly. Tony jerked his head to face Steve's. The others looked away. Tony walked up to Steve. How could Steve say that about Peter? Especially in front of Tony. "He will wake up." Tony said. They looked at each other for a minute. All of the Avengers went to do other things. Tony walked over to Peter. "FRIDAY, do a med scan." Tony said. "He has a broken leg and a concussion." FRIDAY responded. Tony pulled a plastic chair near where Peter was sleeping. He put his hand on the side of Peter's face. Natasha walked in the same room as Tony. "Hey." Natasha said softly. Tony took his hand off of Peter. "I shouldn't have let him fight that guy." Tony said. "Tony, no one knew he had those kind of weapons." Natasha said, comforting him. He looked at her and smiled. A few hours had passed and night came. Peter still hadn't woke up by then so everyone went to bed. Tony couldn't sleep. He blamed himself for Peter getting hurt, as Peter did for May's death. He didn't notice, but night went by fast. He got up off of his bed and went straight towards Peter. It took a few minutes but eventually, Peter woke up. Tony got up and hugged Peter. "Mr. Stark?" Peter said. "I thought I lost you kid." Tony said to him. "You hungry?" Tony asked him. "Yeah, kind of." Peter responded. Tony walked over to the kitchen to get something for Peter to eat. Peter tried getting up, but was stopped by Tony. "Pete, your leg is broken, you can't walk right now." Tony said, holding Peter down on the couch. "Mr. Stark, I'm fine." Peter insisted. "Just stay here ok?" Tony asked him. Peter didn't get up. After he was told not to. "Sorry for messing up." Peter said quietly. "No kid, I'm sorry." Tony said. Peter was shocked by Tony apologising to him. "I shouldn't have let you fight him alone." Tony said. "It's fine." Peter said. They smiled at each other.
