Picture this:
A woman. Ghostly pale. Translucent, glowing like the moon. She's floating in the middle of an apartment, curled up into a ball. Her eyes are closed. Her lips are pursed.
A woman who is beautiful. A woman who is safe.
Now, picture this:
A corpse. Charred black. Smoking. It's locked inside a bare-bones room, sitting in a steel chair. The skin is melting. The eyes are coal.
A corpse that's female. A corpse that's wearing a headset.
Then, picture this:
A large window. Shaded glass. Observational. It's overlooking a room that's devoid of furniture. Except for a chair. And a corpse.
It's crowded. Silhouettes are peering through, pressing themselves against it.
Finally, picture this:
A laboratory. Control room. Sterile. It's filled with computers, flashing lights, alarms.
Scientists are running outside, heading towards an elevator. Towards flights of stairs.
They're begging for help.
Something's gone terribly wrong. There's a situation.
