Pulled both ways

The second room we walked into was the same as the first, but with Strigoi in it, Rose looks at me with her feet raised up against the chair

“Well it took you long enough,” she sipped her glass of what looked to be of blood

“Now,” Rose stands and is over to me in seconds

“Dimitri will you become one of us, you could have everything, me, power, loyalty, everything,” she was trying to bribe me

“No,” she looks disappointed, but cheers up

“Fine, follow me,” she turns and picks up her glass toward the door, I look at Veronica and hold out my hand she takes it and we silently follow Rose, as we walk down a long hallway I see strigoi boy that looks about eighteen on the window sill, he jumps and lands in front of Rose

“Hello mom,” I almost fall over, mom way was he calling her mom

“Hi Jake,” his gaze lands on us

“I’m hungry,” she follows his gaze

“No here,” she hands him her drink and he gulps it down

“Go find your father,” he skips off but stops behind Veronica

“You smell good,”

“And you smell foul,” he laughs and makes a biting gesture to her and walks off

“Come alone and no more funny business,” I look at Veronica as she tightens her hold on my hand we follow Rose until we reach the end of the hall and she opens big double doors

“Lissa,” I yell she looks over at me and I run to her pulling Veronica with me

“Are you okay?” I ask she nods

“Fine all taken care of,” we look to Adrian, that is passed out

“Well most of us, he has been drinking since we got here,” he snored loudly

“Dimitri,” I look back at Rose, she pulls me down and kisses me a very tempting kiss to set me over the edge, she pulls away

“Just remember, you could rule over us all and get everything you desire,” she walked away shutting the door, I watched her go something about her words laced around me and tied itself onto me, I let go of Veronica’s hand and sat down in a chair

“I have a headache,” I lie

“Here have some bread,” Lissa said giving me a piece, I take it and pick off pieces eating it. As it becomes night fall Lissa falls asleep and I stare into the fire

“Something troubles you Dimitri,” I look over to find Veronica

“Something troubles me,” I say, she comes closer

“You still love her,”

“I may still love her,” she comes even closer and leans over me

“She holds you by one arm while you pull away, you need some help wriggling out of her hold,” her lip came down to mine and I pull her onto my lap, I run my fingers through here soft hair missing the touch of Rose and well you know what happens.
