"Hey." he said. "This is Melanie."

Sara squinted at the girl and Aryan flickered onto her shoulder.

"You'll still be dazed, that's altered Temazepam. There is also some kind of substance in the thing on your neck, preventing powers. But we're fine." he added, like he was trying to convince himself. He was mentally screaming inside his head.

"But where's Aris and those Kestrel and Henrik?" she slurred.

"I don't know, either here or they've been taken somewhere else."

*****

A shrill piercing beep crossed the air.

Killian fell off the desk with a start.

Cora looked up from her book, "What is it?!" she grumbled.

Killian scrambled up to the controls on the desk as his curly hair swayed.

The noise stopped.

Killian shook his head, "Multiple ionizer missiles: Aimed at the Camp and Village, getting ready to fire in five minutes!"

"Doesn't matter." Mia said, "They're deserted."

"Yeah, that's what Henrik and Lyra went to check." Killian said, "We need to get them back here, NOW."

Killian pressed the keys on the controls and soon, a map appeared on the screen, it showed where Henrik and Lyra were with two flashing beacons. They were at the far end of the Village.

Interestingly, there was a line of dim red lights where the elite were captured. Some kind of clue.

Can't deal with that now.

Killian pulled his mirror from his pocket and scrolled through his contacts until Henrik's face stared of the screen. Killian paused at the picture for a moment, the picture was taken after their first year at School Moondoor, just before he was promoted to Elite. It was quite a few years ago now, though Henrik had hardly changed, he wore the same grin that made his dark eyes twinkle and his curly hair stuck up in all directions. Killian pressed the 'call' button.

"No, after thirty-seven years of fighting, we can't stop now." Allie protested.

"Surely that's a good reason to stop." Merlin said.

"Allie, I know we've been enemies for so long, it doesn't seem like we can ever be friends. But do you even remember why we are at war?"

"You stole the heart of Moondoor." Allie said coolly, folding her arms, "We cannot forgive you for what you've done."

Jax sighed, "OK, so you do remember. But you got it back and almost destroyed our base – we're even."

"So?"

Aquila folded her arms, "Come on, we don't have all day. The whole elemental world needs you."

Merlin slumped onto a seat. He absent-mindedly spun around on it.

Kestrel's gaze crossed over to him.

He gave an awkward smile.

Kestrel smiled back and tilted her head, before turning back to Allie and Jax.

"I refuse to become allies with them." Allie spat.

Henrik and Lyra burst through the door.

"WE NEED TO GO! KILLIAN SENT A MESSAGE THAT IONIZER MISSILES ARE ABOUT TO FIRE HERE!" Henrik yelled, "EVERYONE, GET ON FURIOUS. SHE CAN FLY US TO SAFETY. WE ALSO GOT A CLUE TO WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN TAKEN!" Henrik flashed an object in the air.
