Epilogue

Ilang taon na ang lumipas. 3 years? Way too long for waiting but I don't care. Maghihintay parin ako. Naghihintay parin ako. Kahit ilang years pa ang aabutin niya, I will still patiently wait. Ganon ko siya kamahal.

I did my usual public speech to persuade the people in voting for me. But after my speech, I opened the floor for questions.

" Gov bakit po hindi pa kayo nag-aasawa?" First question

Because I'm waiting for Avi.

" My commitment as of the moment is to the people. My will is to serve the people." Sagot ko.

" Gov wala na po ba talagang pag-asa na magkatuluyan kayo ni Ma'am Cassandra Buenavista?" Second question

I nodded

" Yes."

It will always be Aviona in my heart

" How about your issue before with a certain girl, Aviona Lewis Fuego?" Third question

It wasn't an issue. That was a ramification.

" Nothing changed. I still love her" There's no point in lying. Kailangang matanggap iyon ng publiko.

" That's all for today. Magandang araw muli. Salamat sa patuloy na pagsuporta." Ngumiti ako bago umalis ng stage.

I miss her. God knows how much I damn miss her. Many times, I planed to follow her. Pero alam kong hindi niya magugustuhan kung gagawin ko iyon. So here I am, waiting for her like a love sick fool.

Hours are counted, my fate will be declared. The public already knows that I won't marry any woman aside from the woman who still holds my heart until now.

It was a hell three years for me. Siniraan nila ang pangalan ko. I've got no support from my colleagues. But still I stood my ground and proved that I am loving a decent woman.

" Prepare my car, Manong Albert. May importante lang po akong pupuntahan" I told my driver. I took the keys and opened the car's door. I'm excited but nervous at the same time.

" Meeting ba iyan Gov?" He asked. Napangiti na lamang ako sa sinabi ni Manong Albert.

" My reason for existence" Napakunot noo pa siya sa sinabi ko.

" Pacancel ako kay Ma'am Esther nung susunod kong campaign site. Salamat Manong" I said

Tumango ito

" Sige, ingat ka iho." Tumango ako pabalik.

The moment I entered my car, I looked at my face on my rear mirror. I should look good. Dapat guwapo ako.

" What's first, Luke. Buy her flowers. Roses. Right, gusto niya ng bulaklak" Damn! Ngayon lang ako natataranta ng ganito.

Aviona

Dagsahan ang mga kapamilya ng ibang kasabay ko sa eroplano. May mga nagdala pa ng mga card boards at cartolinas na may nakasulat na pangalan. May mga may banners. Natutuwa ako dahil kahit papaano ay napapagaan na din nila ang loob ko. Feeling ko kasama ako sa nasa banners. I'm okay with it anyways.

Magtataxi nalang siguro akong umuwi. Didiretso muna ako sa hotel para makapagpahinga.

Dala dala ko ang aking traveling bag nang makalabas ako ng NAIA terminal 1. Mainit pero sanay na ako. It's Manila. Magtataka na siguro ako kung sobrang lamig ng temperatura.

I was walking away from the crowd when I saw a certain man standing among the bunch of crowds with a bouquet of flowers in his hand.

My eyes widened when I familiarized the person.

How the hell is the governor here!

Ma'am Claire. She might have told Luke about my arrival. Kaya siya nandito.

My eyes were fixed at Luke. Still, he have that look in his face. Ang seryoso parin niyang tignan. And still, he is the most handsome man I've ever met.

Ni hindi ko alam kung lalapit ba ako sa kaniya. Pero magpapabebe pa ba ako. Alam kong ako naman ang dahilan kung bakit siya nandito ngayon.

My ghad ang haba pala ng hair ko. Ang guwapo ng susundo sa akin.

We both smiled.

Someday

Someday, Luke. I've always prayed for this day to come. Sana sa pagkakataong ito ay maging masaya na tayo ng tuluyan.

Sa harapan ko mismo, nakita ko kung paano tumulo ang mga luha ni Luke.

I missed this man.

" Hi" "Hi" Magkasabay pa naming wika.

We will have a very long road to walk through and it won't be easy but I believe and hold on to our promise of love.

Love will be our armor and shield to fight every battles we will face now and in the coming days.
