I let go of his collar and start walking away, leaving the boy speechless. "I'm walking home by myself," I told him, not looking back. But he didn't listen and followed behind me like a puppy.

The whole walk home was quiet and Kunimi kept stealing glances from me and fidgeted with his fingers. "Y/N?"

"Why are you still here?" I roll my eyes.

"B-Because I won't give up," he stutters. Now that I think of it, he has been stuttering this whole time. It was as if our roles completely switched.

"Y-You have been waiting and l-loving me for four years. So I will do the s-same for you, even if it takes me d-decades!"

[ 3rd POV ]

Y/N and Kunimi finally reached the front of her house and before she walked in, she turned back to face Kunimi. "It won't be easy."

"What won't?"

"Making me fall for you," she responds. "I won't give in so easily. You may be all talk about having love for me. But your actions speak louder than your words. And honestly, you're not acting fast enough."

She went inside, leaving Kunimi in deep thinking. Was she giving him a chance? Is it still possible that he could make things right?

On his way home, all he could think about what Y/N told him. 'And honestly, you're not acting fast enough.'

He kept asking himself what she meant by that. What actions should he take? His thoughts get interrupted when he heard his phone ringing from his pocket. He takes out his phone and reads the caller ID.

Kindaichi

"Hello?" he answers the call and
was soon greeted by loud sounds at
the other end of it.

"IS Y/N~CHAN STILL THERE?!"
he hears Oikawa on the other line.

"SHUT UP SHITTYKAWA," Kunimi
hears a smack and a thud following
right after.

"IWA~CHAN," Oikawa pouts.

"Sorry about that Kunimi," Iwaizumi
says. "Are you still with Y/N?"

"No," he sighs. "I just left from
dropping her off."

"How did it go?" Hanamaki asks.

"I got what I deserved," Kunimi
frowns.

"What do you mean?" Matsukawa
speaks up.

"How many people are there
on the other side of this call?"
Kunimi raises his eyebrow.

"Just the third years and me."
Kindaichi responds. "So what
do you mean by 'got what you
deserved'?"

"She rejected me," Kunimi says.

"Not surprised," he heard Oikawa
faintly scoff in the background and
heard a smack after.

"What exactly did you tell her?"
Hanamaki asks.

"I told her that I was stupid for not
realizing what I had in front of me
years ago and that I regret taking
her for granted. I told her that I
won't give up and will wait for her
for years. I love her so much and I
will do anything for her!"

"What did she say?"

"She told me that she's changed
her feeling towards me and that it
won't be easy."

"Is she giving you a chance?"

"I don't know," Kunimi sighs. "But
what she said after left me thinking."

"What did she say?"

"That I'm not acting fast enough."

"Not acting fast enough?" Matsukawa
repeats. "I may have an idea but it
could be wrong."

"What is it?" Kindaichi asks

Kunimi hears whisperings of his
team on the other line. He couldn't
make up what they were saying
which frustrated him. "Oi, I'm still
here."

"Matsukawa has something in mind
but we don't know if it's what she
meant," Iwaizumi says.

"What is it?"

"Well it's pretty obvious if you ask
me," Oikawa snorts.

"What?"

"Do you think he'll do it?" Hanamaki
asks.

"Do what?"

"I don't know," Kindaichi says.

"Guys!"

"Break up with Watanabe for
god's sake," Oikawa blurts out.
"Duh!!"

And speaking of the devil, Watanabe began calling Kunimi. He told the others and hanged up the call with them.

"Akira baby," she speaks once he
picked up her call. "Where were you
after the practice match?"

"We need to talk Watanabe,"
Kunimi says.
