Chapter Sixty-Three: Out of Time

Start from the beginning

"Has this happened before?" I heard from outside the room. It was All Might, who sounded like he was downstairs, "Did Nezu warn you about something like this occurring?"

Despite my body begging to stay still and relax, I somehow managed to get up and move closer to the door to listen in.

"That's a little reassuring. We at least have some insight as to what might have caused this...," he said, "...She's currently upstairs, resting."

Was he talking to Aizawa?

"...Yes. You stay with the students and let me worry about her. There's nothing more you can do as of now." I heard him say calmly.

'Guess that answers that question.' I thought to myself.

"...Of course." I heard All Might say one last time before there was nothing but silence filling the room.
I quietly tip toed back to the bed, and let out a sigh as I plopped back down onto the mattress.
I checked my phone to check the time.
2:10am.

'Jesus! I've been out for the last 8 hours.' I thought as I sighed and fell back into the pillow.
It's been that long since I've been out, and I still felt like I had been running on empty fumes.

'What the Hell is happening to me?' I thought as my body tried to fight off the stress that was slowly sinking in, 'I feel like I'm running out of time.'

The next morning came, and the realization that the third and final day of the training camp was here made the pit of my stomach drop. The best I could equate this feeling to was going into a big exam you needed to pass in order to graduate and knowing you didn't study enough. Or being called into the office by the GM and not knowing why.
In other words: It was terrifying and you knew the outcome was likely not going to be good.

But I knew I couldn't let anyone know something was wrong. If anyone got a whiff that something was about to go down, the timeline would potentially be fucked up beyond repair.
I was thankful All Might was able to keep Aizawa at the camp last night, rather than come all the way back to check on me. Despite how much I missed him, he needed to stay put. Last thing I needed was another wrench thrown in.
All Might had spent most of today watching over me, making sure I wasn't expending anymore energy than necessary. And honestly, he was taking things to a bit of an extreme at times. Like, 'not letting me out of bed' and 'acting like my body was made of glass' kind of extreme. It seemed pretty overbearing, but I kinda understood where he was coming from, especially given how much his health and well being deteriorated over time.
But still, it was a bit much.

"I appreciate you looking out for me, All Might," I said as he brought me another tray of food, "but honestly, you don't need to be putting in this much effort. I can take care of myself, you know."

"I'm only taking necessary precautions." he said as he sat it down in front of me, "Last thing I need is an angry call from my colleague, or worse, an unpleasant visit."

I chuckled.

"I would never had thought the great and powerful All Might was intimidated by the mysterious and illusive Eraserhead." I teased as I ate a dumpling from the plate.

He smiled.

"Well, in my prime, maybe not. But I think you and I both know that he's one Hell of a fighter. And in my current condition, I'm in no position to be placing bets between me and someone like him."

I smiled back at him as I took another look at the clock.
My body stiffened.
8:37pm.

'Fuck.' I thought, 'It's already happening. At least, I think it is. Only one way to confirm it. All Might's police scanner downstairs.'
