Ch 4: The Heartburn

Marlene stood in front of Sirius.

"Hey Mar-"

"Can I speak to you alone?"

"Sure-"

Marlene took off before Sirius could finish. Sirius and Remus exchange looks before Sirius follows Marlene. They stopped in an empty hallway.

"Did you mean to stand me up?" She asked. "Am I just a joke to you?"

"What?"

"The date on Saturday."

Sirius's eyes went wide.

"I am so sorry." Sirius said. "A thing came up and-"

"I don't care. All my friends don't even know you stood me up."

"What did you tell them?"

"That you asked me to be your girlfriend."

"MARLENE!"

"I know. I know. I just panicked."

"You have-"

"No. Please no. Just play along with me. Please."

"Fine. Fine."

Marlene smiled and kissed Sirius's cheek. He watched Marlene walk away.

"Well that was something."

Sirius's head turned to see his brother; Regulus Black.

"Regulus." Sirius growled. "What do you want?"

"I believe you know what I want. But I'm close to getting it. With the help of Marlene-"

"You planned this didn't you?"

"I might've." Regulus says smirking. "Besides the future for your light has been set."

"She's not of age."

"Not yet. But when the time comes, and it will come. She will be mine."

"Not if I'm there."

Regulus's smirk grew.

"I believe that you are wrong." He says, "Besides you'll be too busy to be with Karri. You know since you are now with Marlene."

"You're dead."

"No I'm not."

Regulus smirk turned into a smile as he walked away. Sirius hurried and made his way to the Gryffindor common room. He saw James, Remus and Peter.

"Prongs." Sirius says walking up to them. "I-I may need your help."

"What?"

"What did Marlene want?" Remus asked.

"Didn't you have a date with her last week-"

"About that. I'm now dating Marlene."

"WHAT?!" James and Remus shouted.

"What about-"

"I know. I know..."

"Gosh, Padfoot, you need help." James says.

"You really do." Peter says. "You just need one girl."

"I know. I'm not sure what to do."

"You could just tell Karri."

"No. I'm going to put her in that pain."

"Sirius-"

"No. There's got to be another way."

The common room door opened showing Karri and Molly. Both smiling and giggling.

"Karri!" Sirius says a little too loud.
