I was sitting on the swing at a park, just down the street from my
house. After I had run out, I hadn't known where to go. It was late,
and I shouldn't even be here.
I could hear footsteps approaching, but made no move to leave. My head
was down and I had a few tears rolling down my cheeks.
Then, I saw Trixie. The only light was coming from the moon, which was
half covered by a cloud, but I could still see her as she licked the
tears off my face. I started giggling and stroking her soft fur.
I heard the creak of the other swing as someone sat down. I still
hadn't looked up yet, but I guessed it was just Megan or Abby.
"I'm sorry."
My head immediately snapped up. That wasn't Megan or Abby's voice. It
was a mans voice.
My eyes slowly adjusted so I could just make out black, longish hair.
I sighed.
"So I guess Megan told you?" My voice was hoarse and my throat was sore.
He nodded.
"I'm a dickhead. I really am sorry."
"How did you find me?"
"Trixie did." I nodded in understanding.
We sat in silence for a few minutes and I looked up in to the night
sky. It was scattered with stars and a few dark clouds.
"Lets play 20 questions." I said.
He gave me a funny look but didn't complain. I got off the swing and
lay down on the grass so I could watch the stars. He did the same and
Trixie lay her head on my stomach.
"I'll go first. What's your name?" It had really started bugging me.
He cracked up laughing. "Whats so funny?" I asked.
"Your so... different. I mean, I'm one of the most famous people In
the world and you don't even know my name."
"Gosh, don't be so modest!" I said sarcastically. He laughed again.
"Well, what do you think my name is?" He asked.
"I dunno. I've been referring to you as 'the black haired dude' in my
head." I said while shrugging my shoulders. This just made him laugh
harder. Watching him laugh suddenly made me want to laugh. Pretty soon
we were both rolling around, clutching our stomachs.
"The names Nathan." He smiled at me.
"Ha! I was close!" I smiled triumphantly. He chuckled.
"Okay, what's your favourite colour?" He asked.
"RED! What's yours?"
"Green."
"What! But green is such a boring colour!"
"Yeah well, reds the colour of the devil!"
"So? What if I happen to like the devil? Huh?"
We kept bickering for the next few minutes.
