Canary in a coal mine:Canary in a coal mine simply means an early warning or sign of a danger.
(Basically canary is a bird and in early 19th and 20th centuries miners used to carry caged canaries, if the level of methane or any hazardous gases increased the canaries choked to death.The miners then came to know that there was a major turbulence in the mine.)
Example:Changing weather conditions are canary in coal mine for increasing global warming.
