"I do too." Is all I can make out to say. Why am I acting like he's the last thing I've wanted since our break up, when he's the only thing I've wanted?
Suddenly, I hear footsteps approaching the porch steps.
"Who's there?" I ask him, pulling away from our hug. I walk over to a window, trying to see who it is as Author, George, Fred, and many others are setting up in the front yard.
"I dunno. Let's go see. Is Ron up yet?"
I scowl at his name. "Who cares. Let's go downstairs."
He stares oddly at me for a few seconds, probably a bit shaken because I am in fact mad at Ron, and I think I have rights to be this time.
"Are you okay?" He asks, noticing I'm getting hot about the topic.
"I'm fine, Harry!" I snap, sharply.
He nods quickly and turns to go downstairs, but I grab his hand and pull him closer to me.
"Sorry, Ron is bit of a touchy subject now."
"But he can't be. How can we all be best friends if you guys can't stand each other?"
Gosh, he's so cute.
"We've been best friends all these years before, right? All of us. This is just something that we will have to get over. Got it?"
Harry hesitates, then nods. After that, we go downstairs to see who was, and as I can see, we are both shocked. The Minister of Magic? I guess we were both thinking the same thing, because once he was in clear view, we blurted out,
"What's the minister of magic doing here?"
He turns around and notices us, shaking Harry's hand.
"Mr. Potter." He turns to me. "Miss Granger." He turns again, but frowns.
"And where is Mr. Weasley?"
Harry shrugs. "I'll go find him."
"I'll go with you," I press clutching on to Harry's arm. I mean, no offense, but I didn't want to be left in a room alone with the minister of magic.
"No need, actually, I was merely being curious. You will give Mr. Weasley's gift to him."
"Gift, what gift?" I urge, getting extremely antsy.
"Calm down, Mione." Harry rubs my back and I am immediately soothed by his touch. He grows to a softer touch that tickles a little bit so I jump away, but he smirks, knowing exactly why. I silence myself immediately and let the Minister talk.
"On the behalf of Albus Percivall Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, it seems he has left some bequests for you to take."
I can't take the suspense.
"What bequests? What are you talking about, sir?"
"Patience, Miss Granger, please."
I nod and look to Harry, wanting him to rub my back again. But he is so focused on the Minister, which I understand.
"To Mr. Ronald Billius Weasley,"
He still isn't here.
"The Delumator. For when times are most dark," the Minister looks up at both of us, and we glance at each other. Why was this such an awkward moment? "It will show him the light."
I feel Harry's hand creep up next to mine and lace my fingers with his. I turn to him, smiling and he grins, 100% satisfied with himself.
"To Miss Hermione Jean Granger."
