Plane Rides and Schedules

"I'm not sure what to think Lizabeth. Everything is new, we have to get used to everything again. We're going to be going to an American high school, in California of all places. We don't know ANYONE, and we definitely don't know anything about this place. I just think that before we go 'home' we should drive around for a while and see what our new city is like." He suggests. I nod.

"Alright, let's do it. First, lets check out this 'Huntington Beach High School'. Apparently that's where we're going." I reply. Ryan nods, and looks up the directions to the school. I drive over there, and on the way we both look around at the city. When we get there, we're surprised at what we see. It looks... Big. And old. And the architecture looks like Old English style. Ryan and I climb out of the car and walk inside. It's Friday morning, at around 10, so there are students around, but they're all in class. Well, most of them. There are a few people who are skipping classes, you can tell. Ryan and I walk into the main office, an the lady sitting behind the front desk looks up and smiles at up.

"Hi!! Can I help you two?" She asks, and I can't help but wonder why the hell she's so perky. Nonetheless, I smile back an we step up to the desk.

"Yes, we're new students, and we were wondering if we could pick up our schedules?" I ask politely. She smiles, and nods.

"Of course. What are your names?" She asks, walking over to a filing cabinet.

"Ryan and Elizabeth O'Connor." Ryan answers. She nods and pulls open one of the drawers, then starts digging through it. She pulls out 8 pieces of paper, and then walks back over the the desk. She lays them out, and then smiles at us again.

"Alright, I also pulled your other brother and sister's schedules out, and a campus map for each of you. Would you like me to outline where your classes are, or would you prefer to be shown around on Monday?" She asks kindly. Ryan and I both glance at each other, and then look back at the lady.

"The outline, please." We answer at the same time. She laughs and nods.

"I figured. No one wants to be shown around. So, all I'm gonna do it take a look at each of the schedules, and then highlight where each class is. Sort of like a directions map." She explains. We nod, and she takes a few minutes, outlining the classes for all four of the schedules, then stapling each map to the correct schedules.

"Okay guys, there you go. Now, the four of you start your classes on Monday morning, and if any of you guys need help, just stop by the office. It's our job to help out. Also, if you or your siblings want to try out for a sport or a club, the forms and information can be found here in the office, or online." She explains. I nod.

"Okay, thank you for all your help ma'am." I say, picking up the schedules. She smiles.

"Not a problem sweetie. See you guys on Monday!!!" She says, waving as we walk out. Ryan and I both walk towards the parking lot, looking at our schedules. I'm not paying attention to where I'm going, and I end up running into something. Actually, someone.

"Sorry, my bad." I hear a deep voice say. I look up and see a guy standing there, grinning apologetically. I take a closer look at him, and see that he's wearing a Metallica shirt, black skinny jeans and grey Vans. I grin back.

"No problem, I wasn't watching where I was going." I say. He laughs.

"So, are you guys new here?" He asks, looking from me to Ryan. We both nod, and he laughs.

"Well, welcome to Huntington Beach. I wish I could say that you'll love it here, but it's kinda sucky. Anyways, I'm Cobus. Nice to meet you." He introduces himself. Ryan and I both laugh and shake his hand.
