When the soldiers came for us, it was swift.

I opened the door, and saw their leering faces.

Without a word, we were shuffled out and thrown into the back of a van.

They said to be silent, or else we would be shot.

After hours, I saw the light of a sign. I could not read it, but I felt my heart lurch as I saw the things behind the sign.

Small, thatched houses. In fenced off areas. No room for work, happiness, or LIFE.

Soldiers marched everywhere. The people were not free.

I was at the camps.

As I left the van, I was forced into a line with my mother. My father was ripped away from us. We couldn't put up a fight. They would kill him.

I was given a shirt with the number 79. All of my old clothing was burned and my new clothing had this number. 79 hat, 79 jacket, 79 pants.

I was no longer Frank Iero.

I was 79.
