"What have you done!?"
A voice pierced the silent air. The area was a disaster. Many people have died or are seriously injured. Including the king of the land, Wiggles
Men in black and yellow outfits stand around one of their own, swords drawn and pointed towards this heathen. A high marshal by the name of Rock stepped towards the traitor, sheathing his blade before announcing
"You have harmed your friends, family and your king. Not to mention you have conspired with our enemy. And as you know, this is high treason. You will be executed for these crimes. Cooperate and you will be given permission to answer for your crimes and plead for forgiveness. I'm sorry, Mast."
The high marshal said, sympathy in his eyes. He turned away to go assist the king, medics surrounding him and patching his wounds
The traitor was taken away and put into a secure jail below the kingdom of bricklandia to await his sentencing. As he sat in his cell, guarded by commanders at all times, he repented. Pleaded for forgiveness from his god. But fate was not done with him yet. Never was fate truly done with someone
A commander rises from his slumber, stretching a little bit before yawning. He listened to the alarm go off, humming it as he got out of his bed and got dressed. This was Mast, a Major in the Commanders of Bricklandia. He had brown hair, a deep blue scarf and a green marking on his right palm. Everyone thought he was some sort of prophet thanks to it. It didn't mean anything.
Heading out to the courtyard, A place where Commanders of all ranks, both high and low gather to talk amongst themselves. Like all of his peers, he chatted with his close friends, fellow captain and friendly majors. He had gotten suited up and headed out to one of the border walls to assist the crossing of travelers
People from all over the world came to enter the prosperous kingdom of bricklandia, having been told of its riches in wealth, magic and culture. Many others though came to praise their god. The brick god. The one true god. But that doesn't mean that he's the only god
Inside bricklandia, a group of people met in a hut. They discussed a plan to have one of the commanders executed for treason against the king. See, he himself wasn't the most talented in the art of sword fighting. There were much better ones, such as captain Dan or Marshal Awenex. But what really was important about him was his connections. He was known throughout the kingdoms elites for both good and bad reasons, even being close friends with the grand marshal of bricklandia
When they had caught wind of a training happening on the floating isle earlier, they knew they needed to enact their plan today. And so they pulled out a red bottle and passed it to a man wearing a maroon colored shirt who nodded and left the hut. He's doing this for free
Mast was dealing with an especially annoying traveler. He was pleading to be let in, even after his passport had turned up false. He didn't trust the admissions to deal with this situation fairly, considering they were often incredibly rash and quick to react. So he was doing this one
While this was happening, the training was about to commence. The king watched from a balcony, high marshal Rock at his side. They were discussing the upcoming grand marshal elections, and how he would likely be the one to beat the old Grand Marshal, Oreo. They looked down at the Commanders and guardians, being lead by the vice grand marshal
Wiggles spoke to the grand marshal, saying
"You realize that your term is coming to an end. You have around two more days as grand marshal before Rock takes your place."
He said, looking down at the commanders as they trained, some fighting, others chatting and some doing nothing. Organized chaos you could call it. Oreo looked sadly at the king before responding with
"I am aware. Though, perhaps it's time I lost the rank. It does things to you. Changes you. Makes you something you weren't. What did it do to me? You should know."
He said, hands on the railing of the balcony. He was tired. He wasn't old, but he felt like it. He felt like he had just carried the weight of forty years in a measly ten
As wiggles began to speak, someone came up from behind and struck the king, greatly wounding him. Oreo turned to see someone he recognized closely. A close friend of his. One who he had hoped earned the role had just stabbed the very man who he made his oath to protect. He looked at Mast's green eyes, furry within his own. Filled with anger, he swung his sword with all his might, the blow being blocked by the figure. Although, thanks to the force of the blow, the figure was left staggered. In a fit of desperation, they dropped their weapon and broke out into a sprint, followed closely behind by Oreo
"Stop him! Now!"
The Commanders ceased whatever they were doing and rushed Mast. But before they could trash him, he pulled out a glider coated in red. He leaped off the isle, flying to bricklandia before vanishing from their sight thanks to a passing cloud. The isle fell silent, before being broken by mast coming to the isle, looking around curiously. Everyone was on him in seconds, surrounding him
And in his jail cell, that's what he was told played out. He looked at the two commanders standing outside his cell. One by the name of Dallas, who he had taught on how to be a commander, and Emma, one who he had helped host a tryout awhile back. That was good, considering these were two people who owed him something. He stood up, walking to the bars before telling the two of them
"Hey you two. You wanna let me out? Think of it as caching in a favor. The one I earned from teaching you and helping you.It is a fair trade after all."
Mast said, grinning. Emma looked nervously at Mast, but dallas was already reaching for his keys. Emma hurriedly grabbed his hand before telling him
"Do you know how much trouble we'd be in if we were to be caught? We could be exiled, or even exiled for treason against the king!"
She shouted, trying to encourage him to rethink his decision. But Dallas only grinned. He didn't say anything, only grabbing the right key and unlocking the cell door. He stepped out before thanking the commanders and running
Emma looked at him with several emotions present in her eyes. Dallas only said
"You would've done the same thing if I wasn't here. Now, don't snitch. Else we'd both end up dead."
He said as a somewhat subtle threat to her. The commander gulped and nodded, trying to find an excuse to tell their superiors. Dallas just watched his friend run, smile on his face
Now, he just happened to run into one of his closest friends. A Major by the name of Hen. They were some sort of plant human hybrid that they had made a close friendship with. Back to the present, they both fell back, mast rubbing his head while hen checking their flower. Hen regained their composure much faster than him, standing back up and saying
"I know you didn't do it. Someone used a disguise potion. And you know those things flaws. I don't know if anyone else did, but I doubt it considering the circumstances. Come on, we need to get out of here. A marshal is coming to collect you and if they do, then you're as good as dead. C'mon!"
Hen shouted, grabbing Mast and pulling him to his feet. Hen then began to run, mast following shortly behind them. They went through twists and turns and all sorts of things before eventually ending up inside a large hut
Hen opened the door, spotting someone in a black shirt flanked by Commanders. Hen hissed out a swear before shoving Mast behind the frosting station
Hen stood at attention as the Marshal entered the hut, watching as they passed by and went into the secret jail. After they and the commanders passed, Hen pulled Mast back out and ran. They ran to the armory before sticking them in between some weapon racks, a hole giving way into a hallway
"Keep going. Someone will help you. I don't know when I'll see you again, but I wish you luck."
Hen said as they sealed the wall once again, leaving mast in total darkness. A fugitive of his homeland. A discarded Knight commander
