Talent Show-MLB Fan Fic

The Announcement

  Marinette was late to school. Again. She had been out late the night before patrolling with Chat noir and had slept through her alarm. She quickly threw on some clothes, grabbed her stuff and ran to school.
  When she got there, Mrs Bustier welcomed her, "Marinette I'm so glad you're here, I was just about to announce something to the class."
  Marinette shyly took her seat next to her best friend Alya. "Girl why were you late again?" Alya whispered. This had been the third time this week and she was starting to worry. "I slept in late again, I was working on the history assignment last night." Marinette hated lying to Alya but it was to protect her identity.
  "Class this year the school has decided to do something a little different to raise money." Mrs Bustier told them. "We have decided to do a talent show!"
  Everyone looked at each other excitedly. They had never done a talent show before. Almost immediately people started talking and planning and pairing up. Alya leaned over to Marinette and said, "We should both pair up with Adrien and Nino." Marinette stuttered, "I c-cant be Adriens partner. W-what would we even do?"
  Anything to do with Adrien made Marinette stutter and blush because she had the biggest crush on him. Everyone else knew of course except the boy himself who was utterly clueless.
  "I know! You could sing a duet!" Alya excitedly responded. Marinette was most known for her designs in fashion but she could also sing, and Adrien would sing with his mom when he was little and was quite good himself. "I can't do that Alya! How would I even a-ask him?"
  Alya sighed, this was going to be harder then she thought. Marinette wouldn't be able to ask him on her own...suddenly she had an idea. "Hey Nino, Adrien!" The boys turned around to look at Alya. She continued, "What if Nino and I partnered together and Adrien and Marinette partnered together?"
  Nino was automatically on board, as he wanted them together as much as the rest of their classmates. Adrien looked at Marinette who was trying to hide and blushing like crazy. "I don't know, is Marinette okay with it?" Adrien looked at her nervously as she always seemed to me embarrassed around him.
  He wondered if it was something he'd done to make her uncomfortable in any way. Marinette looked out from between her fingers and stuttered, "I t-think it's a g-good idea, if y-you're on board."
  Adrien agreed to do it so they started brainstorming things to do when Alya brought up the duet idea again. "I think Adrien and Marinette should do a duet."
  Marinette blushed and Adrien looked shyly at her. "I think it's a good idea, Marinette?" He asked her. "I t-think it c-could work."
  So once the class had quieted down they all agreed to go over to Marinettes after school and work on their performances.

This is my first chapter for an idea I just randomly had so please don't judge me on it! Let me know if there are any things I should change or work on and any other things you'd like to see! Thank you! There will be more chapters after this, I just have to get around to them!
