below the endless velvet sky
of magpie blue and silver blooms
'neath roaming souls, 'bove stagnant tombs
the amber leaves of autumn lie
birch and maple, beech and lind
ash and elm have shed their gown
stand now bare and sparrow brown
sway their twigs in ghostly wind
willow, rowan, aspen, oak
chestnut, alder, walnut, lark
sycamore and hornbeam dark
set aside their peacock cloak
so lies life in thousand hues
so lie leaves of thousand trees
tumble through the autumn breeze
granting us these brilliant views
