This time, I just had to laugh. He was about to say something when the police shouted. "Teens, can you please not be loveydovey right now and just help us rescue him?" He pointed at a building. I followed his hands and saw a teenage guy crying. He was on the edge of the veranda and he was gripping on it. Hard.
Although I could tell that he's about to let go, I impatiently made my way towards him. Below him of course. I stared at him, and he did the same. What, we're just gonna have a stare contest?
I raised an eyebrow at him. "Let go."
He shook his head a little too eagerly. And shouted. "ARE YOU MAD OR JUST CRAZY?! CAN'T YOU SEE HOW HIGH THIS IS?!?! LETTING GO WOULD MEAN DYING!!!"
I sighed, exasperated. Looks like I have to use my powers here. I looked at everyone and raised my hand, spreading my fingers. In an instant, they were consumed by a blinding light.
I turned to the guy and jumped. Yes, jump. Unlike what you all have expected, and like what I said earlier, I do not have a levitation skill. Did I test it? No. It was a Hunter's skill. Not a vampire's. It's useless, not to mention impossible.
Once I reached him, I pulled his body and let ourselves fall. I landed on the ground with a loud thud, and just then did the blinding light disappear. People looked at me with wonder in their eyes. I don't really care, though. I pulled him and threw him to the police.
Of course the last part wasnt true. As if I could do that with a lot of people watching. That would be the death of me.
"There. Is that enough? I gave the idiot to you. I'm going." I turned around and walked to my car. I pulled the door open wordlessly and entered, but not before giving the guy who-broke-my-window one last, lingering glare.
Once I'm inside, I smashed my head on the steering wheel. Shiz, I forgot! I forgot my brakes weren't working! Ugh, if I drove, yes, I would get out of here, but there's a fat chance that I wouldn't make it out alive. The brakes aren't working, so I probably would end up crashing somewhere else anyway.
Wait. Just wait. Where am I supposed to go...?
Hmm... Now that I think about it, I was actually heading to nowhere. I remember my dad saying something like Mountainville University... But...
How the hell am I supposed to get there without even knowing where it is? The old geezer didn't tell me the least bit of information about the freakin' school, except for the fact that the tuition fee's expensive.
Where am I supposed to go?
Suddenly, something glowed from my right, and this time, I looked at it.
On the passenger seat was the car key, but there was now a word that was engraved on it: Tyche.
Huh? What did Tyche have to do with the key? This is totally weird.
Wow, I'm one to talk. The existence of vampires, werewolves, mages, hunters and all that was already beyond weird.
And suddenly, a blinding light consumed me. Don't even think that I was the one who caused this, because I wasn't. I had no idea who or what caused this. My eyes stung, and I closed it to keep the pain from spreading.
I heard something like a 'whoosh' sound, but even if I was curious, I was wise enough to keep my eyes closed. When everything was quiet enough, I considered it safe to open my eyes, and I did.
And then I heard the rustling sound of the city. The cars, the screeching of wheels, the smoke, and the children running. I looked around. This wasn't where I was before..? How come...
