Broken blocks

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

                 Days passed without much happening in Black manor. At first it is little awkward with Mrs.Weasley as she is still having difficulty that Harry is not a kid but avoided that topic as much as possible. No one mentioned anything about the meeting mainly infront of 'kids' including Harry who hasn't said anything about that incident to his friends. He doesn't like keeping any secrets from his friends but they are not ready for that now, more over he didn't get anything except worsening his relationship with Snape even more. Not that he had any intention to fix it at first. To be honest with himself he doesn't want a friendly relationship with Snape it just sounds wrong but he don't want a raw either. He just want him to go away from his life.
                     Later in that week Harry learned about the prophecy. Sirius couldn't say much about it except it is the weapon he mentioned and is about Harry and Voldemort. Dumbledore is the only person who knows it's contents and not willing to share it as it is more sensitive to divulge and risk it reaching Voldemort and even Harry. He received books on defense against dark arts and on occlumency from both Lupin and Sirius respectively. Lupin also gave a mirror to Harry " It is a communication mirror if the person you want to talk has similar mirror you can speak to them just by saying a activation word anytime you want just like telephone. These cannot be monitored by anyone in any way so ministry restricted the knowledge of making them. We came across a book in restricted section of Hogwarts library which mentioned about them vaguely. We being maruders did research on them made a couple of them and used when we are in different detentions or while executing a prank.
                       It took me some time to make them again. What we used needed a repair. These needed to be used regularly to keep them charged and ours hasn't been used for more than a decade. These mirrors draw a tiny bit of your energy every time you use them to be active. Don't worry the amount is so small it barely equal to the amount of energy you use to cast lumous." Lupin explained to Harry. " I have one as well as Lupin. But he may not be available all the time unlike me, so I would be giving you regular classes through this mirror. The activation words are Moony for Lupin and sniffles for me. Though I can only give you theory classes through this we need to find a way to give you practical classes. Maybe I can use shrieking shank to come to you?" Sirius said rubbing his clean shaved chin. He had been taking a good care of himself mostly because of Harry and Lupin's constant nagging and teasing.
                  "No you can't" both Lupin and Harry said at once. " Why?" Asked Sirius a little dejected and disappointed. " People will notice you are missing and it's very hard for you to come to school in your dog form regularly without causing any suspicious. How or where are you going to stay in the school long enough to teach me while hiding from every one? If you got caught both of us will be in deep trouble." Harry said frantically trying to convince his godfather not be reckless. " Yes padfoot, he is correct." Lupin backed Harry. " Just thought I could be more useful for you. Sorry." Sirius said dully. " Padfoot don't be like that. We will come up with something in due time. You believe me right?" Harry said in an attempt to cheer Sirius. Sirius gave nod with a small smile on his lips. " Then give me some time I will do something about it." Harry said with confidence. They concluded there meeting at that and went there own ways.
                        Time passed quickly in completing there school works for most of them and to no once suprise Hermione had already completed them. So after finishing Harry's homework most of which was already completed during his time with Dursely's, Hermione helped him with his new subjects muggle studies and ruins. It appears that they are not having any order meetings till the school starts since there is a high risk of eavesdropping as kids are free now without much work. Just a couple of days left when they received there Hogwarts letters during breakfast. " About time I thought they forgot to send us these this year." Fred said opening his letter. “Only two new ones,” he said, reading the list. “The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 5, by Miranda Goshawk and Defensive Magical Theory, by Wilbert Slinkhard.” " Who might be our new defence against dark arts professor?" George wondered loud. " Apparently professor Dumbledore had found one and we will be able to see who it is in 2 days." Harry said casually and went back to sorting his breakfast without a glance at anyone. Suddenly there is screech from the side of Harry who jumped into air at sudden sound. Harry looked at Hermione to find she is looking at a gold and red badge in her hands, he perfectly knew what it is. It's a prefect badge!
                        Harry was in between happy and dread on seeing that. He is happy that his best friend got prefect badge but dread that she is a little bossy and follows rules. "Congratulations Hermione!" Harry said. To share his feelings Harry looked over to his other best friend but instead of meeting his eyes Ron was staring open mouthed at something in his hand. Harry slightly leaned forward to see another badge in Ron's hand. This time he is between happy and surprised. "Ron?" Harry lightly shakes Ron as he is not responding in anyway to Hermione shrieks. " Huh......." is everything Ron said while handing Harry his badge as asking him to confirm. Harry took it and examined the gold and red lion overlapped by a large P on it before returning it to Ron with smile and nod. Weasley family present at breakfast was congratulating Ron and Hermione. "Ron wonderful that's almost every one in the family. We need think of something to give you." Mrs. Weasley muttered to herself while hugging him. Ron tried to get away from his mother still in shock.
                 "What to get you? Percy got an owl. Maybe be new dress robes?" Mrs. Weasley asked. " Maybe a broom. Not nimbus just something cheaper?" Ron asked hopefully. " Well we will find something that suits you." Mrs. Weasley said a little uncertainly.  "Who in there right mind made you prefect?" George said. " Yeah! I thought Harry would get that" Fred added. " Me too." Ron said completely out of his shock. " No Ron, you deserve it. Well about me, professor McGonagall must have said to professor Dumbledore about my extra studies this year and doesn't want to give me excess work. Any way you are better at it than me. At least one of the prefect should be funny while other go bossing around." Harry said with a shrug. " Harry!" both Ron and Hermione said at the same time with accusation in there voice but a smile on there face indicating that they are not mad. " Anyway can I borrow Hedwig to send a letter to my parents?" Hermione asked little hesitantly. " Of course" Harry replied smiling before going back to his food.
        
A/N : I know most of you think Harry should have a little dark feelings like jealousy towards Ron in this situation but I like to think they are due to horcruxe present in him. It influenced a lot of his feelings in original book because it started connecting with its other piece in Voldemort. Now as he doesn't have horcruxe in him he is completely fine with Ron being prefect and mind you he really doesn't like responsibility trusted upon him forcefully.
