Chapter IV

1 Year Later

Arthur's POV

"Arthur have you chosen who you will marry after the coronation?" My father questioned.
"Yes sire, I have." I simply stated with a smile.
"Let me guess, is it Merlin by any chance?" Uther asked.
I nodded whilst blushing.
"You may propose to him, he is a nice lad." Uther said whilst passing me a velvet box.
"You will use this ring, I proposed to your mother with this ring, now you'll propose to Merlin with this ring. Propose to him tonight son." My dad said.
I nodded, there was a party tonight celebrating my dad's last day as king.

6 hours later.

I walked into the party.
I looked around for Merlin.
I saw him talking to Lancelot, Guinvere and Gwaine.
I walked over to them.
"Hey Merlin." I said whilst throwing an arm over his shoulders.
"Hi Arthur." He replied with one of his beautiful smiles.

I grabbed his hand gently and led him over to where I planned to propose to him.
"What's going on Arthur?" Merlin said confused.
"Merlin, the past year has been the best year of my life mainly because I got to share it with you." I said whilst getting down on one knee.
I reached into my pocket and got the velvet box.
"Merlin Emerys will you do the honor of becoming my husband.
Will you marry me?" I asked whilst opening the box.
"Yes, a million times yes!" Merlin answered whilst crying.
I slipped the ring onto his ring finger and we shared a kiss.
The whole room was filled with claps and the tears of happiness.
My life just got a whole lot better.
