Part #15. The Informant.

Start from the beginning

Ruby ran past Blake and called out to her.

Ruby: "Ladybug!" She shouted.

Ruby shot a blank round behind her and used the propulsion to fly between the robot's legs, she sliced up a hip joint as she did so. She landed behind the mech and went back for another strike, this time at the right leg of the mech while Blake went for the left. They went back and forth until jumping into the air and slashing their weapons, cutting off the mech's left arm.

Yang sprinted up to the robot and jumped onto it, where she began punching it with her right fist again and again, releasing a shotgun-burst every single time she punched. Saffron was absolutely enjoying the show, but he felt like he should probably help.
So, he brought a sabre out from his inventory and clicked his tongue in contemplation before he held the sabre with his right hand, he spun and held the hilt beside his face, he held his left fist by his waist as if preparing for a punch, and brought his left foot forward. Saffron had copied one of Weiss' stances, it was pretty accurate, but not the best.

Saffron: "Exploding Arc." He said. A light blue coating of energy formed around the sabre's blade. He gritted his teeth as he concentrated to make the attack more and more powerful, by pushing his mana into the attack. It wasn't working very well, it had only slightly increased in power, and he was trying his hardest. He closed his eyes and tried to push more and more mana into his blade, a few moments passed, where the robot dashed forward with the help of jets on the back of its legs, and pushed Yang through three pillars before cracking a fourth one. When Yang fell off of the robot, Torchwick used its remaining arm and used a piston-powered punch that shot Yang through the damaged pillar.

Saffron tried as best as he could, but his limited Intelligence and mana control was costing him time. He inhaled deeply before exhaling almost all of the air out of his lungs. His eyelids scrunched together as he tried concentrating even more. When after what felt like an hour... a network of root-like markings began glowing underneath Saffron's skin. The lights shot throughout his arm like glowing veins until the coating of mana on his blade had exceeded the sabre's size and was now the size of a large tank shell. Saffron opened his eyes and stared at Torchwick and his gigantic mech suit. Saffron put his left foot forward and in a Weiss-like action, stabbed his sabre through the air. The giant bolt of mana flew through the air before piercing through what remained of the cut-off arm. the spike flew through the mech before exploding behind it, forcing the large machine to be blasted a few meters forward.

[NEW SKILL ALERT]
{A technique created by the Gamer. A large spike of combustive mana, particularly useful for breaching walls and reinforced structures.}

[What would you like to name it?]

Saffron lowered his sabre and stared at the screen.

Saffron: "Uhhhhh-- Maybe... Railgun? Nah, too over-used... Anti-Tank Round? Yeah, sure." He shrugged.

[You have named your new Skill "Anti-Tank Round".]

Saffron swiped the screen away and dropped his sabre, not on purpose, but something weird was happening with his hand, it was twitching uncontrollably, he held his wrist with his left hand and tried to contain the twitching, but it didn't really help.

Meanwhile, Torchwick was tempted to go after Saffron for his little stunt, but he settled on the downed Yang, for obvious reasons, this was the wrong decision.
Yang stood up and her blonde hair began glowing. Her eyes turned red and when the robot threw a punch, she caught it with her right gauntlet. She reared her left fist back and punched the arm. With her own beastly strength, and a shotgun-round, the arm had shattered. Torchwick used the metallic legs to kick Yang back, but as she flew past Ruby and Blake, Ruby said something.
