Hi guys! This is a story of my own creation and I put a lot of effort into it. Please be nice and enjoy it :)
I finally feel the darkness that had once consumed me slowly disappear. My ears twitch at the faint sound of hospital machinery, my nose itches with the intense smell of blood, pain, and death around me. My eyelids slowly pull apart, revealing a bright light that makes me shrink back into the soft surface under me. As soon as my bright blue eyes adjust to the brightness of my surroundings, they dart around the room looking for answers as my brain slowly gets its bearings. All I know right now is that my name is Raven Adams and that I'm in a hospital bed.
A deep feeling inside me is pushing for me to get up and run. Run to the nearest forest and get away from the strange surroundings I find myself in. This feeling is the wolf side of me. The part of me that longs for infinite freedom in the wilderness without the constant plague of humans. Another feeling is telling me to stay, to find out answers about where I am and why I don't remember anything about how I got here. That feeling is the human inside of me. The part of me that is comfortable in the human world. I am a werewolf, but not like the ones in the movies. I am the only werewolf on this earth and the only wolf on this earth that can transform at will. I have two sides to me, the human side, and the wolf side. They're almost living inside of me and when they get sick of each other, they fight, making things not so comfortable for me.
My father was a wolf. Not a normal wolf, a human that has the 'curse' of being a wolf until a full moon rises. The full moon is the only time when wolves get to spend 24 hours being human, being normal. My mother was a human my father met on a full moon 18 years ago. They fell in love and within that one night of love, my mother came home pregnant. My mother died during birth, leaving me in the hands of my grandmother, who was also human, but she knew about my father and my 'condition' as she would call it. My father would visit me every full moon and teach me the ways of the wolves. On my 15th birthday, I turned for the first time. With this, my father made the stupid choice to bring me to the pack for one night. And on that night the pack killed him for his sins, and I disappeared from both worlds.
I place my feet on the floor, the coldness of the hard ground sinking into my bones. I look into a mirror that sits on a wall opposite me, finding a bandage around my tanned neck and arms. The sight of my human body is strange as I spend most of my time as a wolf. Judging from the size of the bandages, I was mauled by a bear or another wolf and humans just happened to find me dying in a forest before the creature could finish me off. My eyes drift to the pile of clothes sitting in the corner of the room. They're not mine, I haven't been human for about a year now, but I get up and pull them on before slipping out of the room and making my way through the hospital. I pull my black hair around my neck, hiding the bandage perfectly as I walk with my head down. The smell of blood is overwhelming as I walk past the surgery doors, making me fully aware that I am extremely hungry. I bump into a man's shoulder. "Sorry," I say sweetly as my fingers sneak into his jacket and move his wallet into my pocket. When I get out the front door, my body relaxes at the fresh smell of the forest that surrounds me, filling my body up and lifting my mood. My eyes search around as my nose takes in all the smells of my surroundings. I stand there for a second until I lock onto the smell of coffee and bacon, which makes my mouth water and my stomach churn. I turn my body towards the scent and follow it until I come up to a small café just a block from the hospital. I walk inside and sit at the furthest table from a group of teenagers sitting in a booth, who go quiet and stare at me as I walk in. I pull out the wallet when they turn their gaze from me and count the money, finding $52 inside. I jump when the waitress comes up to me holding a pen and note pad.
"What can I get ya, love?" The big cheery woman asks, the intense smell of her strawberry gum filling my nose as she chews it.
"A coffee and a bacon and eggs... With extra bacon..." I say softly, my eyes never meeting hers. "Please" I quickly add on, making the woman smile before grabbing my menu and disappearing behind the counter. My gaze shoots to the group of teenagers in the booth. There's 5 of them and judging from their intense smell, they're not human. It must be a full moon tonight. I jump again when the waitress returns with my order, placing it in front of me. I wait until she's left before I let my hunger take over, eating the whole plate of food within seconds.
