the way you left is hypnotizing

one of my hobbies is figuring out your brain.
scattering all the things you've said to me out in my head like a puzzle.
i work my way from the outside in.
building the framework and then inviting myself to unscramble all the space in between.
somewhere in the middle it gets fuzzy.
but i know i have all the pieces.
they're sitting here in front of me.
even though you're not around,
i can't leave an unfinished puzzle.
it doesn't have to be right.
i can live knowing not every piece is in the right place.
i know i'll never get it right.
as long as it's done, i can sleep.
