Flashback-----
I laid on the examination table of the doctors office, Frank on my right. He was holding my hand tighter than usual. I think he was even more nervous than I was. I looked over at him and smiled, admiring the beautiful shade of his eyes. He smiled back and laid a small kiss just on the tip of my nose. The doctor knocked and came in, greeting us and preparing the ultra sound.
"So, Miss Way, how have you been feeling?" The doctor asks me as he puts gloves on his hands, preparing to put the gel on my stomach.
"Not too bad. The morning sickness came and went pretty quickly. I can't really complain so far." I said simply. I was so grateful for this easy pregnancy. I felt Frank's grip on my hand tighten a little. I looked over and he smiled at me. He had such a genuine smile. I loved it.
After more wait time, the doctor was moving the little sensor all over my baby bump. He looked at us and smiled.
"Well, Miss Way, Mr. Iero, would we like to know the gender?" I looked at Frankie. He just kinda shrugged and I smiled.
"Yes, please!" I said, excitedly. I have been waiting for this for so long and finally it was time to find out.
"Congratulations, it seems like they're both boys!" The doctor said. My jaw dropped. I looked over at Frank, and he was paler than I have ever seen him before.
"Excuse me, doctor, but um, both?!" He said. I was too stunned to even talk. The doctor gave us a puzzled look.
"Well, yes, the twins. Didn't your previous doctor inform you of that?" I figured by the looks on our face, we certainly had NO idea what was going on.
After getting the disk of the sonogram and cleaning up, Frank and I were in the car on the way back to my house. We sat in silence for a while. As we pulled into the driveway, Frank put the car in park, but he never took the key out. We sat there for a few minutes in silence.
"Katelynn, we need to talk," he said suddenly. I got an uneasy feeling, but I just brushed it away. It's nothing.
"Sure, baby. What's up?"
"Katelynn, I don't think I'm the father." I was shocked.
"Frankie, it's impossible. You have to be," I said defensively.
"Kate, I don't think I CAN be the father. They told me about a year ago that I was infertile. There's no way I got you into this situation, let alone pregnant with TWINS, for Christ sake!" I sat there in disbelief. How is this even possible?
I had my head in my hands, I couldn't handle this. The tears were falling down my face.
"Frank, pl-" I started, before he cut me off.
"Katelynn, save it." Frank turned on the car and sat in my drive way, waiting for me to get out. I grabbed my purse and slammed the car door shut as I ran into the house, sobbing.
I slammed the front door, just to be greeted by Josh running out of the living towards me as my back slid down the door as I sobbed. My knees were as pulled into my chest as I could and my face was buried in my hands. Josh stood there for a few seconds before briskly running back into the living room and shortly returning with Gerard and Mikey. They helped me up and Gee opened his arms as I collapsed in his embrace. Tyler walked in to the room to see this. He just stood next to Josh. Gerard and Mike were rubbing my back, attempting to calm me down. Tyler whispered something in Gee's ear. I felt him let me go. Tyler grabbed my hand and led me upstairs to my room.
He held me as I cried.
"K..." He began, "what happened?" I wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Frank doesn't think he's the father. But there's no other possibility!" I exclaimed. Tyler got an uneasy look on his face.
"What?" He didn't answer. "Tyler, what do you know?" I pressed.
"Katelynn, I think I'm the father." He said quietly as I attempted to gather my thoughts.
