"Dragon!" Shouted Thorin as he gathered the army. Running down to see that the dragon will be fought off, he took his place and armed himself with a sword. Praying for his love's safety, he charges at the dragon, unknown whether he'll be alive after or not.

Aneira packed a few of her things, including a particular necklace and a comb that her husband gave her. Rushing to get her baby out of town, she runs out of the stone house, barging out of the wooden door. Kissing her child's forehead, she takes a look at the Mountain, drowned in dragon-fire. "Thorin, NO!" She shouts admist all the others and gets shoved around by the panicked crowd. Immediately, she shakes off her fear, turning her attention to the child in her arms. Her and Thorin's child.

Unexpectedly, she gets shoved by an unknown person and gets hit on the head. Touching her head, she realized there was warm liquid streaming out... Blood. Feeling her mind fleeting out of her, she struggles to get to safety, managing to hide under a tower. From then on, darkness seeps in.

--

Thorin takes a look at the halls. Dead. All of them. Rushing out of the Mountain, his eyes first fall on Dale-- reduced to ash and rubble. "No, no..." He says to himself.

Running to the town of Man, he desperately searches for his woman. "Aneira, Aneira!" He calls out, moving rubble and debris here and there. Balin sees the young prince and helps him find her. "Balin, have you seen her?" Thorin asks, trudging past a lane of bodies. Balin sighs. "I'm sorry, lad... I haven't." The prince buries his head in his arms, ready to burst. "If only I... If I had... Curse myself and that dragon!" He shouts in rage.

A crying noise echoes.

"Could it be...?" Balin says, half to himself. Thorin had no time to loose. Getting up, he runs to the source, getting louder as he got nearer.

There lay a woman, embracing a child, very much alive. It was crying. "Oh, Aneira, please... Be alive. For me." Thorin whispers as he stroked her face gently. She stirred and coughed. Opening her eyes slowly, she looks at the child, and at Thorin. "Oh, love..." She says, trying to smile. "My time has come. Th-They're calling m-me..." She looks up at the serene sky. "N-No, Aneira. Don't say that. Balin's here, he'll help you," he says, and Balin tends to her wounds. "You're safe now, you and our child..." The woman smiles. "Thank you... Th-Thorin. I l-love you. D-Don't... Forget me."

Then she sucks in a final breath, smiling gently as she closed her eyes.

"N-No... Aneira! Please... Wake up... I-I need you...!" Thorin desperately says as he embraced her. She was ice-cold.

She was dead.
