This shouldn't even be an unpopular opinion. If I meet someone and I want to get to know them, I want them to talk about themselves. Talking about other things outside of themselves doesn't help me to know someone. If I'm interested in you, if I like you, I want you to talk to me all day along about you.
I mean God, it's not self absorbed to spend a lot of your time talking about the one thing in your life that's more relevant in your life than anything: you.
