"Erza, are you sure about this one?" 

"Lucy, need I remind you, that you wanted to come with me on an S class quest. That's the easiest one out of all of them on this board." 

The blonde pouted, huffing as she looked at the page in her hand, debating if she still wanted to go with Titania, or Erza Scarlet, on this quest. 

"Fine, I give, I'll go. Do you really think I'll be able to handle this?"

"Yes, but it doesn't really matter what I think you're capable of. If you doubt that you can do this quest then you most likely won't be able to. But even if you can't, I'll be there. I can handle these quests just fine on my own so if something gets to be too much you don't have to worry," Erza reassured the Heartfilia girl. 

As they descended down to the first floor of the guild hall, ruckus had ensued due to Gray and Natsu fighting. Again. 

"Natsu! Gray!"

"Damn, she caught us," the fire dragon slayer stated.

"What did you expect when you tackled me, flame brain?!" 

"Enough you two. Try not to fight while I'm gone, Natsu," Erza stated, as she and Lucy were in the process of letting Mira make sure everything was taken care of as far as taking the quest went. 

"Fine, whatever," Natsu mumbled, arms crossed as he and Gray sat at one of the tables. 

With that Erza and Lucy left to get ready for their quest. Lucy had to pack more than usual since S class quests did take longer. 

"Lucy, calm down. I can tell how nervous you are from here," Erza stated, leaning on the doorway to Lucy's room. 

"Well this is an S class quest, of course I'm nervous. Not to mention I don't think you and I have ever been on a quest alone before. It's nothing against you, of course, but I'm not used to it for sure."

Erza smiled, lightly rolling her eyes at how Lucy tried to make sure she didn't offend the queen of the fairies. 

"Breathe, Lucy, I'm not so easily offended. And that's understandable. Come to think of it we haven't done a quest together, much less an S class mission, it's okay that you're nervous but it will be alright," Erza promised. 

As scary as the other wizard usually was, Lucy couldn't help but to feel comforted by her words. Erza was honestly really sweet once someone pushed past her tough exterior. Not to mention she was a fiercely loyal friend to have, very trustworthy and willing to fight to the end to protect those she loves.

"Well... that's the last of my things, so I guess we should get going," Lucy said, looking to the armored wizard, who silently nodded, leaving with Lucy. Erza had packed a bit lighter than she normally would, but still had enough things to last throughout the duration of the quest. The train heading towards the town they needed to get to had recently derailed, so as a result the two women had to go on foot to the town, called Willowfell. It was a beautiful town, actually being renamed for the willow that grew in the center of the town, and the beautiful leaves that fell during the fall. Due to the sheer size of the tree, the leaves would fall all over the town, onto rooftops and the walkways, directly from the one tree. 

"We have to be careful when fighting the beast terrorizing the town, alright?" 

"Why is that, Erza?" 

"It's very important to the people in Willowfell. You'll understand when we get there, but a lot of people visit because of the beautiful scene the willow tree in the center of town creates. We cannot destroy that tree when fighting the beast. Our best bet is to lure the creature away," Erza explained. 

Lucy nodded, sighing softly. "Hey, did the request say anything about what the creature was?"

"No, it didn't. But whatever it is, this quest pays less than the other S class, which typically means it isn't as rough as the other ones."

Eventually the two reached the town during the day, when the creature was never active. 

"Are you two wizards?" a small voice asked. 

Erza looked down to see a child had walked up to them. She knelt down to the child's height, nodding. "Yes, we are. We're from Fairy Tail. I'm Erza Scarlet, and this is Lucy Heartfilia," she said, speaking calmly and softly to the child. 

"Oh, you're Titania!" the boy exclaimed, smiling wide. 

Erza smiled, laughing softly. "Yes, I go by Titania as well," she said. 

"Are you guys gonna help us? That beast is really scary... It took my mama," the child said sadly. having taken Erza's hand in his own desperately. 

Erza's smile faded, along with Lucy's. Lucy looked to Erza, hoping she would know what to say to this kid. It was heartbreaking that this child was so desperate. 

"We're here to help, don't worry. I'm sorry about your mama, but we'll make sure this doesn't happen anymore," Erza said, ruffling the boy's hair. "Are you with your father?" the boy nodded, Erza offering him a sad smile, "You may want to go back to him. I don't think he'd like you talking to a couple of strangers," she said. 

However just as the boy turned, a man had walked up. Erza stood up, looking to him. "On the contrary, Titania," the man stated. "I'd notice a couple of Fairy Tail wizards when I see them, especially you, your real name is Erza Scarlet, correct?" 

She nodded. "Yes sir. and this is Lucy Heartfilia. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any details on the beast that's been terrorizing your people?" 

"We noticed the request didn't have many details on the creature. We'll do what we can no matter what, but knowing more information would be nice too," Lucy said. 

The man nodded, sighing softly. "Yes, but there's not many details on the beast at all. It's quite mysterious. It's pitch black, with a reptilian body from what I could see. But you should know something else about this beast," he said. 

Erza frowned, looking to Lucy briefly before looking back at the man. 

"What else is there about this beast?" 

"There was someone riding it. As far as I could see it was a woman, but I could be wrong. it was too dark to see their face, and they wore all black, I'm guessing to further hide their body."

"And it, well, they, only come out at night? A beast and a rider?" 

"Yes, we still don't know what their motive is. They started taking and killing our people, but have given us no reason for it. No request for money or anyone specific, they won't attack everyone like they could have by now, it's just strange." 

"Well I'm sure we can handle it, but that is really weird," Lucy said, looking at Erza, who was deep in thought.

"Yes, it is," the red head mumbled. "Regardless, we will take them down." 

"Thank you Titania, Miss Heartfilia. If you'd like, I can offer you my place to stay. I've only got one guest room, but-"

"That's just fine sir, thank you. Lucy and I shouldn't have a problem sharing the quest room."

As they followed the man to his home, his son walked beside Erza talking about how cool she was and how cool she looked in her armor, and how he wished he had armor, and swords like she did. 

Lucy expected Erza to get irritated with the boy at some point, but the armored wizard seemed pleased listening to the child as he rambled, quietly thanking him every time he complimented her or praised her in some way. 

"Stop pestering the woman, son, she-" 

"No, it's alright sir. He's just excited, that's all. Honestly it's nice to see someone excited to see us. Most of the time someone recognizes me or my guild they aren't too fond of either. Hell, it's usually because they plan on fighting me or the guild," she told him. 

"That's true," Lucy piped in.

With that, the two entered the home behind the man and his son, going to the guest room to get ready for that night.
