I blushed at his words before looking at him. He was wearing a black tux which made him look too handsome.

I took a step back to notice him properly. His sleek black hair were neatly gelled to the side but in a way that didn’t make them look made up, instead gave them a much desired tousled look.

He was wearing those same black boots that we got him two months back for his cousin’s wedding and that tux just fit him perfectly in all the right places. He raised an eyebrow at me and I grinned at him before saying, “God! Ethan, you look so smart in this attire. I am sure all these NY gays will throw themselves at your feet today.”

He gave me an amused smile before saying, “Finally! I thought I wouldn’t receive a compliment from you today. So are you ready to rock and roll?” I linked my hand with his and said, “As ready as I will ever be. But at least tell me where we are going. By looking at the way we are dressed, I am sure we are going all out today.”

He winked at me before saying, “Oh yes! We are going to a restaurant in SoHo.” I just stared at him as if I was struck by lightning before saying, almost shouting at him, “Are you kidding me? SoHo is like the priciest neighbourhoods in NY. Tell me you are joking.”

He pulled me closer to him while stroking my cheek with his thumb and said softly, “I am not joking. It’s not always when Amber Brooks has a pity party all in her service. We are doing it the richie rich people’s way today. Get ready to live the best night of your life, Amber.” I jumped excitedly before stepping out of the apartment with him.

As soon as I stepped out of the building, my eyes got stuck on the sight in front of me. My mouth fell open in surprise and I took a step forward to adore the beauty in front of me closely.

I touched the sleek black limousine in front of me and looked at Ethan with hearts in my eyes. He just stood there with his hands in his pockets and grinned at me stupidly.

I ran towards him and he hugged me so tightly that at some point I thought he was going to crack my ribs open. “Ethan, this is crazy. You shouldn’t have done this. I know how expensive all these services are and I know you don’t get left with much after paying for your rent and for your college expenses”, I said while looking at him.

He held my hand in his and said, “When will my rich parents help me out? And I just want you to be happy today, Amber. A man is stupid if he can’t see your worth. I want to tell you what you mean to me and how much more you deserve. So don’t worry about the expenses and just enjoy this night.” I couldn’t help but get emotional at how lucky I got to have a bestfriend like him.

Without Ethan, I would have been a mess today but he just knows the correct ways to make me smile. As soon as I stepped away from him, the door opened and the chauffeur stepped out.

The man seemed to be in his fifties wearing a big smile on his face. He was dressed in a pressed dark blue suit with a dress shirt underneath.

His palms were covered in black gloves and he was looking so polished and well-groomed that you couldn’t help but smile at how handsome he looked. He put on a hat as soon as he stepped outside the car and held his hand out for me to take.

He kissed me on the upper palm and greeted me a very good evening. I smiled sheepishly at him before wishing him the same.

The chauffeur whose name tag displayed Paul handed me a bouquet of white roses which he magically pulled from his side of the car. I took the roses and looked at Ethan who just shrugged at me.

Ethan opened the door for me and after I sat in my seat, he slipped next to me and closed the door behind him. The next half hour passed in the limo while we drank some nice champagne and listened to some music.

Ethan and I giggled like teenagers while we reminisced the days of our high school prom when he wanted to hire a limo for his prom date but the guy cancelled at the end moment and Ethan had to be without a date the entire prom. Finally, we reached to a very high ended restaurant and Paul arrived again to open the door for us.

I made my way outside and linked my arm with Ethan’s. “I suddenly feel under dressed”, I said to Ethan when I noticed the women in the restaurant wearing long gowns and blazers as if they had just came out from some model photo shoot.

He rested his other hand on my arm and whispered in my ear, “You look perfect. Just put on that million dollar smile on your face and it will be enough to charm your way through the crowd.” His words made me feel a bit optimistic and I made my way towards our table with very confident strides.

Ethan pulled my seat for me and I couldn’t stop myself from giggling while looking at us behaving all gentleman and lady like. Ethan handed me the menu and I couldn’t help my eyes from diverting to the price of every food item on the menu.

He seemed to sense my distress because he quickly said, “Don’t you dare look at the prices, Amber. Just order whatever you want to have and leave it to Mr. Handsome here to clear the bill.” I pulled my tongue at him and looked at the menu with concentration, trying to figure out what the names on it actually meant.
