Najenda: "What do you mean?
I looked down at my boots as the memories of everyone dying came back. My fist tightened as I looked up at her.
F/N: "I don't know if it was a vision, a glimpse into a timeline...... Tatsumi, Mine, Bulat.... the others and people I don't even know. I saw them die boss."
Najenda stays quiet for a few moments before taking a drag from her cigar and letting out the puff of smoke.
Najenda: "That still doesn't explain much..... but I still have one thing I need to know."
F/N: "What is it?"
Najenda: "Who are you?"
I paused for a moment before answering.
F/N: "I wasn't kidding when I said I was just an average guy, I know a little bit about shooting and sword fighting.. working on a hobby. Next thing I know.....
I unclip my saber bringing it up in front of me. I ignited it as the blue blade gave off a small hum.
F/N: "I'm here and now fighting against an empire, using gear from a fantasy world by my terms."
Turning off my saber, I looked over at Nejenda.
F/N: "But now, ignoring what brought me here, what mission that being brought me to do. I want to see this empire fall, I want it's people to live happy and in peace."
I smirk slightly as I clip the saber back.
F/N: "So before you ask, my loyalty lies to the people of the land."
Najenda closed her eye and smiled.
Najenda: "Well then, it's a lot to take in, but I know you won't fall from our views."
F/N: "Great, but can this just stay between the two of us?"
Najenda: "Yes, but your counting is off."
F/N: "What do you mean?"
Najenda just nodded up. Turning my gaze upwards, I yelped and fell on my ass. For above me, crouched on the top of the pod, was Akame. Her face is void of all emotion except for a small smile at the corner of her mouth.
Najenda: "You didn't think I wouldn't have someone follow us?"
F/N: "Ya, that's fair...
I sat up as Akame dropped down from the top of the pod. I was going to brace myself to get up before she held out a hand to me. I took it thankful as I half hobbled up to a standing position, my thigh still stinging despite the Bacta.
F/N: "Thanks."
She nodded and let go of my hand as she looked at Najenda.
Najenda: "We should head back, I've heard what I wanted. F/N, you will rest when we return. You have training with Bulat and Tatsumi tomorrow."
F/N: "Yes ma'am."
Najenda nodded as she gazed back at the pod for a moment before turning and leaving the clearing the same way we came, now this time having a third person walking next to us in our group for the journey back to base.
Timeskip
I walked into my room after returning from my talk with the boss.
???: "So that went well."
In an instant I swung to my right, my fist coming into contact with another hand.
F/N: "You have a lot of explaining to do."
I said as I pulled my fist back. The figure of Gold standing before me. He simply shook his hand a bit as he looked at me.
Gold: "Really a lot of explaining this chapter. Ah whatever, you want to know why that droid showed up?"
F/N: "Yes, and stop talking weird."
Gold simply shrugged and walked past me, next to the droid as he tapped it with his foot.
Gold: "Every Yin has their Yang. A rival has their rival."
He looked back at me.
Gold: "Every light has their darkness. There are things far larger than just this world happening, but to say the least, there must be balance, I should have known bringing you here would have alerted him."
F/N: "Who?"
Gold: "His name is not important, but seeing as you lived, he will send someone stronger next."
F/N: "Stronger? Well why not send more heroes to fight your battles."
Gold: "Because I can't interfere directly with the flow of worlds, just nudge them in a way.... or by adding a piece to the board, but doing so costs me."
F/N: "........Then why send me?"
Gold rolled his eyes as he walked over, putting a finger on my chest.
Gold: "Because you are stronger than you realize. Now I must go, but be warned, there will be another sent to get in your path. Just make sure you Bear Grylls through it."
F/N: "What?"
But in a moment that I blinked, he was gone. Shaking my head a bit, I take off my jacket and lay down. Exhaustion from the walk and my wounds made it easy to fall asleep. But what would come next in my journey would not be easy....... but when is a challenge ever easy.
