Chapter 6: Getting some answers

Start from the beginning

Najenda: "Then tell me what you can. From the report I know you're not a traitor, but I need to know if you're going to be a liability."

I nodded as I looked at the droid.

F/N: "That's a IG-88, it's a bounty hunter droid."

Najenda: "Alright, but what exactly is it."

F/N: "A advanced machine in your terms, a very advanced machine."

Najenda: "And how do you know that."

F/N: "Cause I've...., it might be easier if I show you something."

Najenda nodded and stood up.

Najenda: "Where is it."

F/N: "A place, maybe an hour or two walk, little ways away from where the others found me and Tatsumi."

She looked at me for a moment before looking out the window.

Najenda: "This better be worth it then."

F/N: "I hope it is."

With a slight groan, I stood up. I walked over and grabbed my jacket from a hook, next to it lay my armor and gear. The two pock marks on the armor clearly visible against the white.

F/N: (Guess I'm not a shiny anymore.)

Slowly bending down I picked up my saber and clipped it onto my belt and followed the boss out as we started to head down and out of the base. Along the way I spotted Leone giving me the stink eye from her room.

F/N: "Boss?"

Najenda: "What."

F/N: "What's up with Leone?"

Najenda: ".... Everyone's a little shaken after what happened, she's keeping her guard up unless I say something to sway her view."

F/N: "Alright..... are the others ok."

I looked at her as we exited the base, she pulled out a cigar and lit it before answering.

Nejenda: "Their fine. Mine's seemed a little worried for you but she's fine."

I nodded a bit as we walked. It was an awkward two hours for me as we walked in silence. I occasionally looked at her, the expression always the same, stoic. It was hard to read what she was thinking. Though near the end of our walk, I started to recognize where I was. My pace sped up as we moved through the tree's. After moving a branch out of the way, I saw our destination before me. In the same place as before, sat the escape pod, the grass had regrown in places where dirt had been thrown up on landing. A few wild flowers blooming near the back.

I gazed over at the boss to see her face change from stoic to confused. She stepped forward, eventually making it to the pod and running her hand over the side.

Najenda: "What is this?"

F/N: "A Republic escape pod. I wasn't kidding when I said my gear fell from the sky, nearly crushed me actually."

A small frown formed on her face as she looked at me.

Najenda: "Then how did you got here?"

I simply shook my head as I walked over and leaned my back into the pod's outer hull.

F/N: "That's actually something I don't know the answer to. All I know is that one moment I was in a dream, the next I was in this field, no idea how he did it."

Najenda: "He?"

F/N: "Ya, he..... I'm not sure if he's some sort of god, or just a dimension hopper.... he called himself Gold. He said I could be the one to save everyone."
