Prologue

This World is divided into two Powers.

The Forgotten & The Remembered

The Forgotten are born with bodies that are able to absorb magic. They call this power, Fragments. Now any Forgotten can use Fragments, but no Forgotten can use it in the same way.

Think about it like this; 

Two Hydrogens attach themselves to a single oxygen particle. This reaction creates what is known to be, H2O, or water. 

Now imagine a different chemical, like Carbon, fusing with a single oxygen particle. This creates a new reaction: Carbon Monoxide. 

These reactions are quite similar to the relationship between a Forgotten and the Fragments around them. Each Forgotten is unique, fusing to one chemical, creating different or similar reactions. 

On the other hand, the Remembered cannot absorb Fragments like the Forgotten but instead are born with large amounts of hallow Fragments. These hallow Fragments are treated as storage for memories. More specifically, the memories of past lives. 

These memories could range from one to thousands of reincarnations. The power held within these fragments allows the users to become calmer and saner and prevent any mental illnesses due to these memories. This does not necessarily mean they are cured of injuries such as PTSD or Alzheimers, but it does mean that the memories of the past lives will not be able to negatively impact the body or mind. 

With these hallow fragments, they can not only remember their past lives but can remember even the smallest detail in their current memories to an extent. They can either add to their memories or forget certain areas to their memories as they wish. 

Over the years, a war broke out between the Forgotten and the Remembered in hopes to decide the better power. This war lasted seventeen years of suffering for both sides but ended with a treaty between the most powerful representatives of both powers.

This was the Star Treaty that started the era of peace and hope.

With this treaty, 

The Forgotten could not use their fragments against the Remembered in acts of assault, murder, attempted murder, or general harm. Any uses that are passed in courts such as self-defense or accidental uses must be passed through, at least, five courts, all with appropriate judges and lie detector devices or Forgottens. 

The Remembered were restricted to speak of their past lives unless it was mandatory in dire situations, such as technological advancements, government-held investigations, educational tests, new discoveries, or mandatory uses passed by the court. 

This created the Universal Era of Peace.
