September 1st 1991

making her way slowly down the rocky, uneven cobble stone pathway, Adelaide walked with her head hanging low- looking unhappily at the dusty ground beneath her. her first year of hogwarts, she was dreading it. her aunt told her she would love it and wouldn't stop going on about how incredible it was but how was she supposed to enjoy it when all the voices in her head drowned out almost everything around her.

'dont eat, you dont deserve it"

'they wont like you, no one does'

'who are you trying to be? you look disgusting'

she couldnt drown them out no matter how hard she tried so she just decided to listen to them. they were just another symptom of her depression anyways. she has always struggled and battled mental illness. depression, anxiety, adhd. she just wanted it all to stop, she needed it all to stop.

adelaide finally made it to the train station where she would get on the train to the place she would least like to be but decided she would just keep her head down and just try to make it through. the platform was confusing and for an eleven year old girl who had been raised by her muggle aunt cathy. she watched as other 'wizards' and 'witches' threw themselves rapidly through the wall between platforms 9 and 10 and was mind blown when she saw them go straight through it!!

how did they do that?
She thought to herself when suddenly a group of ginger haired children and an older lady and an older man all came and stood infront of the wall. first, an older, taller ginger haired boy took a run up and pushed his way through the bricks.

"excuse me?"
adelaide asked in a quiet, gentle voice as she approached the (soon to be known as) weasley family

"everything okay my dear?"
the older lady replied in a high pitched but still soft tone

"I just- how did they-"
she began to try and ask how to get through the wall

"-how did they get through to the platform?"
the lady finished adelaides question for her

"y-yes"
she replied in a yet again small voice

"I assume you are a first year? I'm Ron Weasley and this is my family"
A boy, slightly taller than her but still looking her age, cut in

"I-im adelaide. yes I'm a f-first year"
she tried not to stutter but failed

"so am I! we can go through to the platform together if you want?"
he offered

Adelaide looked to Rons other siblings only to see the young girl left and his parents (she assumed) standing there nodding as if to say the two could go before them.

Ron briefly explained how they had to take a short run up and just go straight into the solid wall and they would be taken through to the platform. seems simple enough.

They both held tightly onto their trolleys of belongings and walked backwards a little as if they were about to start a race or something and then sprinted forward at the red brick wall. She felt light, almost weightless as they were whisked into thin air and transported onto a path- looking exactly like the previous station except for the fact that it was buzzing with people who all wore the same robes as her and ron...
