I wait outside of the classroom

I wait outside of the classroom. I know he’ll get here soon. I’m tapping my foot impatiently and looking down both sides of the hallway.

Then I see him. He’s laughing with his friends. I walk right over to him and grab him by the collar of his shirt.

“Tell me why I shouldn’t punch you right now.”

“You wouldn’t punch your soulmate,” He starts with a smile, but then it falters. “Would you..?”

I loosen my grip on his shirt. I sigh and brush my fingers through my hair. Then I punch his arm. And not just a playful punch. I put my strength into it. He winces and grabs his arm. He looks like he’s in pain.

“You have to admit you deserved that.” I say, eyes narrowed.

“Sure. Yeah. God that hurt. Ow!”

I roll my eyes and turn around. “I need to get to class. I’m assuming you’ll find me at lunch.”

As I walk to my classroom I can’t help but smile. I gotta respect the pickup lines. I can see that being funny on his end. I may have done the same if I were in his spot. The tormenting me for a week was not cool though.
