CHAPTER 11

After a week of being a temporary cashier finally, they got a new one. This is my last night as in charge.
Outside the pub it was raining so hard you would think there was a storm that night.

I had no idea that it was raining so hard. Not until after my shift did I realize that I didn't have an umbrella with me.

“Shit! Ano ba yan bakit ang lakas ng ulan, May bagyo ba ngayon?”

Wala akong kaalam alam na may bagyo nga dahil hindi naman ako nakikinig ng balita o mahilig manuod ng TV.

I was talking to myself, looking for an unused umbrella or raincoat in the locker room and the storage but found none.

“Haist! Kapag minamalas ka nga naman, Bahala na nga.”

I hurriedly went out to the back door, running to the waiting shed as fast as I could but before I arrived I was soaked in wet.

I quickly shook my wet clothes. I did not notice the car that parked in front of me.

“Hay kapag minamalas ka nga naman.Kung kailan last night ko na saka pa.”

Because I was busy with what I was doing and also because it was too noisy due to the heavy rain I did not hear that someone is calling me.

I was startled when someone grabs me in my arm.

“Ay butiki!”

I suddenly look who grab my arms, It was Kendrick in front of me.

I looked at him in shock, What is he doing here.
I thought he was a snatcher or some bad guy.

“Hi, Ikaw pala anong ginagawa mo dito.”

Shock is written all over my face.

I could not help but tremble as the wind blew hard.

“I was calling you out a while ago I saw you passing by without an umbrella, I guess you didn’t hear me, Anong trip mo at sumugod ka sa ulan?”

Annoyance is visible on his face.

“Sorry, I didn’t hear you calling me, Galit ka ba sakin? Bakit mukha kang galit?”

Nagtataka kong tanong dito, Bakit parang naiinis ito sa akin.

“No, I’m not mad at you, Bakit ka sumugod sa ulan without even carrying an umbrella? Are you not thinking straight?”

“Ah yun ba I have no choice wala akong mahanap na payong sa locker room at hindi ko naman alam na umulan pala ng ganito kalakas.”

“Come with me, you’re soaking wet, baka mag kasakit ka pa nyan.”

I just ignored the warm feeling of his grip on my skin.

The warmth of his palm, My gosh it gives me a shiver down to my spine I shook my head to clear my thoughts.

Hindi na din ako nag pakipot pa baka wala din akong masakyan sa mga oras na ito. Aside sa maaling araw na napakalakas pa ng ulan. Eh halos lahat ng mga kasama ko ay may mga motor o sundo sa mga jowa nila.

It's a good thing he has a big umbrella and it fits us but, because of the heavy rain, I squeezed in more next to him so that I wouldn't get too wet.
And because I'm getting too cold.

We hurriedly went to get inside of his car. He immediately turned to the passenger seat and handed me a Shirt and a large towel.

“Here use it, dry yourself with the towel, don’t worry It’s clean, And if you want, you can change your top para hindi ka matuyuan at hindi ka magkasakit use the towel to cover your self.”

Dahil sa nag dadalawang isip ako sa sinabi nitong magpalit ako ng tshirt nito ay napatingin ako dito.

“Yes, magpapalit na ako if yun ang gusto mo.”

I quickly took off my Tshirt and wiped my body again with a towel. I glanced at the t-shirt I was going to wear It’s quite big but It’s Ok, I can smell the detergent they used on this, mixed with his natural scent.

Smells good, enticing.

I laughed at what I was thinking. And before I got to where my imagination was, I quickly put on his Tshirt.
When I finished, I knocked on the window on his side to call his attention to get in because I knew he could be wet even with an umbrella.

“Thank you for lending me your Tshirt. Kung hindi mo ako nakita malamang mukha na akong basang sisiw ngayon dito at wala parin akong masakyan.”

He looked at me for a moment. Before he starts the car.

Medyo kinilig naman ako kay Pogi concern.

“Kahit mag grab ako wala naman akong makukuha ng ganitong oras at ganitong panahon kaya hindi na ako sumubok baka lalo lang ako matagalan sa paghihintay sa wala, pero sa susunod gagawin ko yan sinabi mo, mag grab na lang ako kahit mahal.”

Pag sang ayon ko na lang dito.
Nang bigla akong mapa atching!

Nak ng tokwa nakakahiya buti na lang hawak ko parin ang towel na pinahiram nya sakin yun ang ginamit kong pantakip sa mukha ko.

He never talked again, I didn't try to make a conversation as well and because I felt tired I couldn't help myself but fall asleep while on our way home.

Dahil sa pagod hindi ko na namalayan na nakarating na kami sa amin.

I was awakened by a faint pat on my face.

“Huh? Nandito na ba tayo? Sorry nakatulog ako, hindi ko namalayan.”

I still felt a little drowsy, and my head hurts too.
Nak ng tokwa mukha magkakasakit pa nga ata ako.
