"Ugh, what's the verdict this time doc?" I ask
"Do you want me to give you the news gently or bluntly?" He asks
"Just give it to me straight" I say
"Well you're living on borrowed time" he says
I take a second to process what he just said.
"What do you mean?" I ask
"There are currently pieces of your suit inside of chest. The pieces are slowly making their way to your heart. And when they get there, they will pierce your heart. And I'm sure you can guess what will happen then" he tells me
"H-How long do it have?" I ask
"It's hard to say, the only thing keeping you alive right now is a magnet in your chest that's slowing down the shrapnel" he tells me
I look at my chest and notice wires coming out. I follow the wires and I see a battery that's connected.
"As long as you keep that battery with you at all times you should have at least another montn if I had to guess" the doctor says
I say nothing as I stare at the battery.
"I'll give you some time alone..." he says as he leaves the room
I just lay there in silence as I think about what I was just told.
*knock knock*
"Takashi, can I come in?" I hear Midoriya's voice
I remain silent.
"Uh...I'm coming in" he says
The door opens and I see Midoriya enter.
"Hey Takashi, I just saw Mirio so I wanted to see you as well" he says
"How is he...?" I ask
"Well...he lost his quirk..." he says
"Well that sucks" I say
"Yeah...until Eri can control her power he's gonna have to stop hero work" he says
I succeeded in sitting up as the pain doesn't hurt as much.
"So uh...what are those wires for?" He asks
"Do you want me to sugarcoat it?" I ask
"Uh...not really" he says
"I'm dying" I say
Midoriya looks at me and blinks a couple of times
"What?" He says
"I'm dying, Midoriya" I say
"B-But that can't be right" he says
"I was told that I have at least a month if I keep this battery with me at all times" I say
"Th-There has to be something we can do! Nighteye has already died on is we can't loose you as well" Midoriya says as he starts to tear up
