Hi, I'm the narrator, and I'm here to tell you the origin story of the Kid Squad. On June 24, a mysterious package was delivered to five teenagers.
Kid Squad's POV
"What are these?" the Kid Squad asked in unison, their voices filled with curiosity and apprehension.
Narrator's POV
Gabby, a hyperactive girl with fiery red hair streaked with orange highlights and striking yellow eyes, was the first to tear into her package. Inside, she found a wolf-shaped necklace and a note. At the same time, the others opened their packages. Brook and Chris, siblings with a shared tenacity, examined their gifts. Brook, whose dark yellow hair was adorned with subtle blue highlights tied back in a ponytail, shared her dull red eyes with Chris, whose messy bright blue hair with dark yellow highlights contrasted with her neat appearance. Both received masks and a note. Ren, a boy with vibrant orange hair and piercing dark blue eyes, discovered a pair of sunglasses, a hat, and a note in his package. Meanwhile, Kendra, a blind girl with untamed brown hair streaked with dark pink highlights, felt her way through her package. She found a walking stick and a recorder with a preloaded message.
Each package contained an identical note that read:
Dear kids,
This may be hard to understand, but you have been chosen to become the new Kid Squad. These items belonged to your parents. There's a lot you don't know, and it's time for you to uncover the mysteries. You five are going to be great—I just know it. I need you to go to North Way Park and meet each other. Bring the packages. Trust me, something's going to happen. This will be dangerous. You have to trust each other, because if you don't, I don't know if you'll make it. The world is in your hands, children. Show me that your parents were right to leave this to you. You need to figure out where you fit in, who your parents were, and why someone is after you. This person doesn't know where you are—your parents made sure of that. But once you take on this responsibility, once you start being heroes, they'll find out. And they'll come for you. Please figure out this mystery, save the world, and uncover why this person wants you gone. Stay safe.

"What?!" they shouted in disbelief. Gabby grabbed her box and dashed out of her house, her mind racing with fear and excitement. She needed answers about her parents—answers this note hinted at. Brook and Chris, driven by shared determination, took their packages and headed toward the park.
They didn't know what to expect but were eager to learn more about the mystery and meet the others. Kendra clipped a chain to her seeing-eye hawk, Flame, and carefully made her way to the park with her package in hand. Ren tucked his package under his arm, grabbed his skateboard, and sped off to North Way Park. When the five finally gathered at the park, they noticed each other holding similar boxes. Slowly, they approached and introduced themselves.
"Hi, I'm Gabby Silver," said Gabby.
"Hello, I'm Brook Govter, and this is my brother, Chris Govter," Brook said confidently.
"I'm Kendra Lenna-Helter," Kendra said with a quiet smile, "and this is Flame, my seeing-eye hawk."
"My name's Ren Zeke-Pal," Ren said, his voice tinged with skepticism.
As introductions wrapped up, the boxes began to shake violently.
"What the hell is happening?!" Brook yelled as a bright light erupted from the packages, engulfing the group.
When the light subsided, they found themselves in an unfamiliar place, dressed in bizarre outfits.
"Where are we? And what are we wearing?!" Chris shouted, his voice full of confusion.
"More importantly—why do I have wolf ears, a cheetah tail, and wings?" Gabby exclaimed, her voice rising in panic.
The kids look down at their outfits. Rin was clad in an eye-catching neon-green & hot pink outfit, accented with tech-like designs and futuristic glasses. A helmet with sharp, angular shapes framed his orange hair, giving him an air of energetic curiosity.
Brook wore deep plum-purple, with golden hair peeking out from under their hood. A sleek mask covered much of her face, while twin daggers rested at her side.
Beside her was Chris in a counterpart outfit of shades of deep ocean blue. His hooded figure bore bright blue hair, his piercing gaze partially concealed by a similar mask, exuding an aura of calm precision.
Gabby was dressed in vibrant red and blue, her outfit reminiscent of an adventurous aviator. wolf-like ears sprouted from her head, matching the red & orange tones of her hair and cheetah tail. A pair of goggles rested on her head, and white wings on her back which hinted at her capacity for flight.
Kendra's sandy-yellow attire bore intricate details, complemented by a headpiece shaped like a fox's head. her long, flowing hair framed a pair of thoughtful glasses, and they carried a walking stick.
"Um, Kendra, your hawk is literally on fire," Ren pointed out.
"This is insane," Brook muttered. "Why are we dressed like this? What does this have to do with our parents? We're supposed to figure all this out, right? Like the note said?"
"I don't know about this," Ren said, doubt creeping into his voice. "We're just kids. We don't know how to be heroes. How are we supposed to handle something like this? We don't even know where to start."
Gabby stepped forward; her voice steady. "Look, I know it doesn't make sense, but this is all I've got. I never met my parents. I've always wondered why I felt so different, why I was alone. This might be my only chance to find answers. Even if you don't want to help, I'm doing this. I'll take the responsibility, no matter how hard it gets."
The group exchanged uncertain glances before Brook spoke up. "I'm with you. I want to know what happened to our parents too."
"If my sister's in, so am I," Chris said firmly.
"I'm definitely in," Kendra added, her confidence bolstered by Gabby's resolve.
Ren sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Alright, you talked me into it. I'll help. Let's figure this out together."
If only they knew, this was just the beginning of an incredible—and perilous—journey
