An Interview Gone Wrong!

"Oh! Did I?"

Shen Wei felt kind of offended and quickly went to the large body size mirror in his room, tapping his cheeks and checking himself up.

So, didn't you guys wonder why Shen Wei is staying home, watching soap dramas and fighting with his brother? The reason is none other than the outbreak of covid-19 itself and their country is locked down all over in order to control the widespread of the pandemic.

The first days, Shen Wei was very happy because of course he doesn't have to wake up at an hour even before sunlight stabs you to kindly remind that it is morning, you don't have to go to office, most importantly you don't have to face smug face of a CEO in person.

But as the days went by, Shen Wei turned out much more like a kicked puppy locked up without its consent, as expected.

Everyone were resorted to work from home and it is not even once or twice Shen Wei was caught playing games between the conferences as he forgot to turn off the presentation screen; where he swiftly managed to got off the wrath of CEO and others just by flashing his impossibly cute puppy eyes and blaming his dizziness (the fact that he was bored to death was conveniently censored).

Even though Shen Wei is such an outgoing person and it is quite suffocating for him to stay home all day, he never had went out of himself roaming around the locked out city unnecessarily because no, he is not ready to become a pain in the ass of health workers and government unlike other youngsters his age. And those rare times he went out are when his twin needed a helping hand in purchasing necessities for home. He strictly believes he should at least do this for his brother since he is the main reason Shen Wei can eat good and delicious food three times a day. If not for his twin, Shen Wei would be starving, just bless that lenient soul.

And now let's talk about the (not yet officially declared) other half of Shen Wei.

The person who hadn't stayed home for more than two days, the one who hadn't even took a sick leave and is a complete workaholic, is now locked up in his house as if it is his self made JAIL.

One week is okay. He can certainly manage.

Two weeks is ... still okay, he can live through it.

Three weeks... at least he can watch over his little devil and his co- workers through his screen, yeah so he won't die.

Four weeks... OKAY THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INTOLERABLE, INSUFFERABLE, SO MUCH SUFFOCATING and of all the people, you guys just DON'T EXPECT ZHAO YUNLAN to stay home without any human contact(in person, not by any electrical means) for centuries (not literally), and by human contact (in person, not by any electrical means), he indeed want to make it explicit that his little devil Shen Wei's contact.

And thus one morning, he decided to make a call.

Meanwhile...

A suspicious person was loitering around the Shen brother's neighborhood for nearly fifteen minutes. The person has a small frame, his face is covered by mask and is clad in white tee and blue jeans jumpsuit. He was also talking on his phone with someone. After making sure that no one is around, he walked near the long pipe in the side of Shen apartment. He sized up the pipe with his eyes, took a deep breath, rubbed his hands together, patted his thighs and began to climb the pipe as if it's a piece of cake (the guy may have experience. ExPerience.)

And as soon as he reached the balcony in the second floor and jumped inside a room through the side window, he was caught by someone who was readily waiting for him. He snatched away his mask and they kissed hungrily like they haven't seen each other for ages.

And by the fifth time, Shen Wei took Zhao Yunlan's call. Not that he ignored his employer's call intentionally; he was just taking his beauty nap. And surprisingly, Zhao Yunlan was patient enough to dial the number again and again (it was his need after all).

Before even noticing the caller id, Shen Wei pressed the receive button, and hold the phone close to his ears.

"Mm... hello..." Shen Wei slurred in his sleepiness.

Zhao Yunlan suddenly caught his breath and felt a jump of joy hearing his voice. But of course he won't show it in his voice (have to maintain his face, yeah). He snorted and asked roughly,

"What were you doing? Why did it take so long to attend the call?"

Then only Shen Wei came to his senses and realised the caller. He quickly composed himself.

"I was umm... reviewing. Yeah reviewing the spreadsheet of recent expenses." (He can't say that he was sleeping through eleven in the morning, he will be embarrassed to death.)

"So what is the matter, boss?"

"I need you to come to my apartment and assist me in our recent project." Zhao Yunlan asked him directly with(out) no pretense. And Shen Wei, please don't think Zhao Yunlan bought your lie instantly, he just don't care about that at the moment.

"What? I can't!" Shen Wei denied him outright.

"And why is that?"

"As if you don't know the reasons." Shen Wei huffed.

"How am I supposed to go to your apartment in this present condition of lockdown? No public transport. I don't even own a vehicle. The entire country is locked down and it's not like we can roam around the city as usual. And if you need my assistance, we can always talk it through video conference." Shen Wei listed his reasons.

"That won't do. You should come here in person. I will send my driver to fetch you up within an hour."

Human contact (in person, not by any electrical means) is very important:- by Zhao Yunlan.

"I object."

"Then say goodbye to your salary this month."

"Send your driver immediately." Shen Wei can't risk his salary over his stubbornness under any circumstances.

Zhao Yunlan ended the call with a winning smirk. Shen Wei sighed.

He lifted himself up from the bed and got ready. Then he remembered the fact that he should acknowledge his twin before going out or else he will be making a ruckus later. And with that in mind, Shen Wei walked towards Yezun's room.
