All It Takes

20 6 10

All it takes,

Requires so little effort.

If that is so,

Why does the room stay silent?

Even the crickets,

Have stopped to watch.

Everyone stares,

Stares at the pain of the next victim.

But the thoughts of the table turning,

Leaves their stomach churning.

They don't have the courage,

The repercussions turn them.

They see his cries,

They her her pleads,

Begging them to stop,

For someone,

Anyone,

To help. . .

How conveniently,

Their eyes go blind,

And their ears go deaf.

All it takes,

Is one call for help,

And they'd save the day.

One call,

One brave moment,

One deep breath,

With one step forward.

I know it's scary to pull the curtains,

But you know what's scarier?

Not knowing when your next strike will come.

Not knowing when the abuse,

Will be taken too far.

Scary to pull the curtains, huh?Your friends say, "All eyes on you!"

But guess what,

That's not true.

The eyes are on the ones,

Whose hearts have stopped.

Blood cold from fear,

Knowing they've been caught.

You see,

Karma will never let you be.

Turn your back,

Be prepared for a smack.

Helping that victim,

Means your stories just begun.

One chapter out of the dark forest,

One closer to your fairytale.

All it takes,

Is you taking a step back,

And you will see,

Not everything is in white and black.

There are two paths,

In the game we call life.

One of an ignorant fool,

Who falls behind.

Or the other,

A warrior in battle,

Your wits the reason why you're alive.

And the reason why,

Everyone thinks you can fly,

Is because you lifted them up,

And away from hell.

You could save a soul.

Bring this unjust treatment,

To the public eye.

Make sure no bullies,

Escape unscathed.

The long run is pleasing,

But beware.

Getting there will have you panting and wheezing.

So what's your choice?

Raise your voice?

Or walk away,

Letting the villains rejoice. . .

All it takes is for you to finally be brave.
