Weakness Number 1 [Bokuto x Reader ]

Part 5

The two were just glaring at each other.

What the heck is going on?

"Hey Bokuto, so can I have my shirt?"

 The stare down has been broken. "Oh yea, here's your shirt, [Your name]" He hands it over to you. You put the shirt in your bag. You then panic a little bit because you realize that this probably looks like it's implying something else that you may have done with Bokuto to someone who didn't know the full story.  You anxiously say to Haru, "It's not what it looks! I swear!" Haru does nothing but laugh and Bokuto being clueless says, "Doesn't look like what?"

"It's nothing," Haru said, kind of acting weird. 

"Anyway [Your name]," Bokuto said, "are you busy?"

"No, why?"

"It's a surprise! Here come with me!"

"Okay," you turn to Haru. "I'll see you around, Haru."

Haru says "Yea maybe we can meet up to study again sometime." And before you leave, Haru does something unexpected. He hugs you goodbye. You are a little surprised by this and from what you can tell, Bokuto is too. 

"Nice meeting you Bokuto and I'll see you soon [Your name]," Haru says.

"You too," Bokuto says. You detect a bit of annoyance in his tone. "Let's go [Your name]." He grabs your hand. You two start walking.

"Hey how do you know that guy?" Bokuto asked. There was something in his voice that you noticed. 

"Oh Haru? Well, we both bumped into each other on the first day of school and found out we both went to school in the United States. I also just found out that he went to Shinzen."

"Okay," was all Bokuto said. He seemed sort of angry. Was he jealous that you were hanging around another guy? You decide to quickly change the topic.

"So what's this surprise you got for me Bokuto?" You said patting him on the back. "You know I've never been a fan of surprises."

And as simple as that, Bokuto's face lights up! "We'll be there soon. I promise you'll like it!"

"Okay Bokuto, I'm trusting you!"

~A short while later~

Bokuto led you up what seemed to be never ending stairs. "Come on! We got to hurry!" Boktuo said. He was a good amount ahead of you. 

"One thing is for sure Bokuto, you're really making sure I get my workout in today," you said trying to keep up with him. Yea, you worked out, but you were no where near the shape that Bokuto was in since he trains almost every day for volleyball. 

Bokuto laughed at your comment before coming down a few steps to where you were. "Come on!" He then grabs your hand and leads you up the staircase. With him holding your hand, it's easier to keep up with Bokuto. Or maybe it's because Bokuto knows to slow down the pace better now. You two finally make it to the top. 

"We're just in time!" Bokuto said smiling.

You look to see one of the most beautiful spots overlooking the city. The sun is setting, and you can't help but marvel at all the shades of yellow, red, and orange engulfing the entire view.

You stare, just take in the site you are seeing. "Bokuto, it's absolutely stunning. I wish that it wouldn't end."

"You know, when I see a sunset, I always think of the first day I met you."

"You helped me practice my serves until the sun set." 

"I always loved to play volleyball with you. It was so much fun when we would have practice matches, the boys team vs. the girls, in high school."

"Yea and watching you go into emo mode after we would win was something else too!" You say giggling

"Hey! I'm not the same needy ace as I used to be! I'm just a normal ace now!"

You laugh, thinking of those old practice matches against you and Bokuto. They were a lot of fun. "You know, Bokuto, we should play volleyball again together sometime."

"I'd like that a lot." Bokuto says. You and Bokuto take in the last few minutes of the sun set together, both reminiscing of your high school days, but also excited for what's to come. 

You turn to Bokuto, but he's already looking at you and and giving a soft smile. You notice how the sunset reflects off his amber eyes, making them a much more golden color. He leans in closer to you. It starts to get darker around you, with the colors of red and orange being replaced by different hues of blues. The street lamps begin to light up around, making you able to still see Bokuto.

"We should probably head ba-" but you stop mid sentence.

Bokuto kissed your forehead. When his lips left your forehead, the skin where it had touched still felt warm. The two of you surrounded by the glow of the street lamps, he leans down and whispers to you in your ear, "Can you stay with me a little longer?"
