Chapter 3

Mei just looked at her without blinking and finally realizes the woman in front of her. She was bewildered but put on a calm facade.

"You can't be... Athena, right?"

The woman called Athena tilted her head sideways that gives of a cute feeling. She looked at Mei with confusion visible in her face but after that she changes her expression to smiling face.

"Athena? I don't know if I'm Athena or not. In fact, I don't know anything and this place, is hidden within the baby. All I know is that I'm Creation"

(A/N: Creation is a name)

"Creation? What is--"

"Duchess, if it's that the case then by now the other soul is in that body but we can't, we really need a person with creation magic. I told you..."

"It looks like you've invaded this space. But, you don't look like a bad person... You need to get out of here or else the body might die, the baby can't withstand having 2 souls in the same body"

"How do I get out of here?" Mei began to panic when she learned that having 2 active souls might kill the body.

The woman giggled by her expression. She gave Mei a smile and pointed a direction. Mei looked at where she was pointing at, and was flabbergasted, a path was made, it's just not a path, it was filled with roses. The fragrance of the roses was spread, for the first time, Mei felt like she teared up and quickly checked if it was, she really teared up.

Such a beautiful path, it was her first time appreciating nature. Roses, her parents told her it was filthy, it dies easily, so better off not to care about it, they'll wither eventually. It is true that they die easily but why not plant again, right?

"Go, before the body self-destruct."

"So beautiful... Thank you for letting me see that the world is not totally rotten" Mei looked at Creation and gave a smile before walking at the path.

"Totally... rotten, huh?"

The bright golden light subsided and the people who are present was stunned. They saw three babies instead of two.

"Miracle... A miracle happened. The souls are now safe. Safe." The high priest announces as he kneels in front of the new baby which is where the soul of Mei resided. Which is technically kneeling on front of the Duchess.

"Duke, we don't need to go and find a person who wields creation magic. Thank goodness, we will never leave the babies to find a person" the Duchess says as she sniffled, relieve from the fear (that one of their child will die) and pain (that they'll leave the babies), earlier.

"Yes. Yes, Honey. Thanks for the miracle." He murmured as he comforts his wife who is now started crying.

The children are sleeping in their respective rooms except Eros(the twin boy) who sleeps with the parents because of his continous cries despite having a nanny with him.

As they sleep, an intruder was already inside the room of the girls. Using the fact that the intruder was trained he easily sneaked in when the knights of Celeste house was less.

He used the time when the nanny went into the toilet to do her own job. When he approach the twins one of them woke up and suddenly cried, the baby who alerted the nanny was Mei-- Athena Yuki Celeste.

Her cries alerted the nanny, who  immediately went out of the toilet and shouted.

"An intruder! Some--"

Before she can ask for help her head is already separated from her neck that made the other twin awake and suddenly cries because of the noise.

"Shit"

He heard a heavy and rash footsteps heading towards the room and he looked at the two crying twins, he looked so livid as he stare at them. He casted a spell that made babies sleep. Before he can jump from the window a sword flew towards him and he turned around, not afraid of getting scathed because his children are in his arms.

"Put the girls down!" The Duke ordered and hurriedly approach them before he can get near them. The intruder jump from the window and escape to the forest.

"After them!" He commanded and chase them as well. He was scared, anxious, and fear towards the twins.

Scared that he may not see them again if he failed to take them back. Anxious to what will happened to them; and fear of losing his children.

After a long search for the twins they still haven't found them. They search the forest for almost 2 hours but didn't find a silhoutte of the man.

"Still haven't found them?" A cold voice emerge from the crowd. This made the knights, that was left in the house, shudder.

There is a moment of silence, when Erwin asks again in a colder voice.

"Not yet, Commander."

A full but small voice answered after being scared.

"Not yet?!"

Meanwhile, the man they are looking is already away from the forest where he entered.

The intruder smirked as he knew that he escaped from them. He continued on his way to his master, while keeping an eye to the twins, never letting them to wake up. He never had a problem with the baby on his right because she didn't wake up again after he put on a spell but the baby on the left, she was troublesome. If she woke up, he immediately put her to sleep, to avoid her cries that may cause an attention. It already happened thrice, it looks like the baby has a slight resistance to a spell.

"I don't know why my master wanted you but you got his attention, since master paid you guys his attention you better be useful to him or else you'll die." He whispered to the both and sighed.

He continued on his journey to go back while barely escaping from his pursuers. After 5 days of journey, he go to his master and reported.

"The babies?"

"Barely surviving." He answered in a calm voice, he looked at the twins and took out a baby bottle, then he woke them both to feed them, though the stubborn(Mei) is barely drinking to survive, the other twin accepted the milk that was offered to her and stopped her cries as she suck at the nipple of the bottle.

"Barely surviving? Hugh, let the maid attend to them and put them at the White Palace after they are fed, don't let them die, they'll may be useful to me, the northern king"

"Yes master"

After Hugh, the kidnapper, disappeared when the king looked at the twins and ordered some maids to attend to them and feed them.

"Throw them at the White Palace after, don't let them die." He ordered in a cold voice that made the maids cower in fear. After the king ordered them to live king's quarter and bring the twins did they breathe and wonder who the twins are.

Hey guys, how's your day? Mine's hectic. Need to understand a lessons myself and do activities even though I don't understand the lessons. Ahh, I think I'm going to explode, this fast-pace schooling. 3 subjects every 6 weeks, truly a fast-pace, that it made me worry and always asking myself, are we learning from them?

Anyways guys, sorry for the late update and I'll update rarely to cope up with my studies. I'm not slacking in my studies but I truly can't understand everything. Ah, COVID when will you stop tormenting us?
