"Does she have the same scent as the vampire in the forest?" Luna asked as an attempt to not notice the suspicious glance that she and Edward shared.

Jasper flickered his gaze between Edward and Luna before he answered.

"No. She's a different one." Jasper answered.

Just right after Jasper spoke, the sound of the bell ringing echoed throughout the empty hallways of the school and soon, a swarm of students was out the cafeteria doors.

The dissatisfaction was to be clearly seen in all their faces. The scoffs that left their mouths were almost simultaneous. It was obvious that neither of them was in the mood for school. Though, it wasn't exactly new to Luna. She never liked school. She just liked hanging around with the people she can tolerate. And right now, those people are her sister and the Cullens. Angel, Jessica, Mike, and Eric are nearing that phase as well.

"Contrary to popular belief, we are apparently not saved by the bell. See you bloodsuckers after school." Luna said.

Edward, Bella, and Rose gave Luna a playful roll of their eyes while Emmett, Alice, and Jasper simply smiled at the girl.

Considering that Luna's schedule after lunch was History class together with Jasper, the others exited the room just as their classmates went in to fill in their assigned seats.

Jasper gestured for Luna to walk with him towards their seats and Luna agreed as he leads them. The two sat on their respective seats which were where it had always been, next to each other.

"You okay?" Jasper asked his soulmate.

Luna swiftly glances at the honey-blonde vampire before looking away again.

"Yeah. You?" She asked back rather awkwardly.

What's happening to me? Luna thought. She wasn't the type to get awkward because a boy asked her if she was okay. But then again, he's just not any guy. He's a vampire. Moreover, he's Jasper Hale. That sort of explains it, right?

"If you're okay, then I'm okay." He said, an almost unnoticeable smile tugging on his lips.

Luna herself smiled slightly at the honey blonde's affectionate gesture. But both their smiles were wiped off their faces when their new History teacher strutted her way inside the classroom. Just the clicks of her heels were enough to make the couple figure out who was about to walk in.

She was just like how Luna remembered her. Her blazing red hair was bouncing ever-so-lightly against her back and arms. Her full and glossy red lips were stretched into a smile. Her red-painted nails made Luna think about she's so sure she had clawed someone's face off with it. Her skin was as pale as the Cullens'. But what intrigued her was the color of her eyes.

It was light brown, unlike vampires' usual eye colors which were red, golden brown, and black. Perhaps she was wearing contacts.

"Well, look how excited you guys are for History." The redhead vampire said.

Luna averted her eyes from the vampire and glances around the room. And she sees what the vampire meant. Each and everyone in the class was gawking at her. Like she's some kind of ginger goddess and they are ready to worship at her feet.

Luna and Jasper were the only ones staring at the woman with suspicious glares. That amused the redhead.

"My name's Valerie and I will be your substitute teacher for History class." Said the redhead--Valerie.

Her light brown eyes looked straight into Jasper's golden ones, and Luna could've sworn the woman's mood became lighter at the sight of the honey-blonde vampire.
