Chapter 13: Our real good pals the Delancys

Depuis le début

A knife.
They had a knife being held to my neck.
Despite everything running through my head I couldn't help but laugh.

The blade pushed into my neck a little more and I could feel it start to tear at my flesh. A little blood began to run down my neck.

"You think killing me is gonna stop them?"
"It might."

"Doubtful."
I kicked him in the nuts and shoved out of his grip.

"Morris get 'er."
Another punch landed on my stomach and then another to my head.

More punches were thrown at my head, my stomach, my arms, just about everywhere.

I had been thrown to the ground and my head connected with a pretty loud thud.

All the pain began to dull.
I couldn't feel anything anymore.

The sounds seemed to slowly and grow hazy.
I could almost make out the sound of my own screams.

I didn't even realize I had been screaming.
There was another kick to my head and the sound stopped coming for a while.

The pain faded away completely.
My mind went quiet.

When I slowly became aware of things again the brothers were gone and Blue came up searching for a response from me.

I could hear the usual morning rush of the city not too far away.

I tried to reach out to him but it hurt too much.
My entire body became wracked with pain from that one moment.

I groaned a little and Blue came up and began to lick at my face.

He moved back and I tried to push myself up.
The sudden pain waved through my head and I fell back down, the pain and he noise and everything disappearing again.

The next thing I knew I could hear Blue barking again but this time at a distance.

As all the pain flooded back into my body as I heard him getting closer.

"What is it boy?"
I know that voice.
Who is that?

"Seriously Spot, why is we following a dog?"

Spot?
Spots here?

"Cause it ain't just a dog it's Blue."

I could hear them getting closer.
"So we're following Sights dog?"

"Yeah, shut up."
They must've been in the alley now.

I tried to call out to them but couldn't manage anything above a small hoarse "Over here."
Blue padded over to me and laid down, barking once more.

"Oh shit."
Suddenly someone kneeled next to me.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no. Lia-" Spot muttered.
"H...h...hey Spottie." just the exertion it took from that made my hearing go fuzzy for a moment.

"-get 'er outta 'ere."
He  began to gather me up into his arms.
I couldn't help but wince and groan at the new waves of pain.

"Oh god. Ise sorry Lia."
"I've got 'er stuff."

Race.
That's who the other voice was.
They began to walk, pretty quickly.

Every step Spot took sent a new jolt of pain through me

I could barely make out him murmuring things.

With each new wave I came closer and closer to crying out.

When Spot moved to adjust me in his arms I couldn't help but yelp at the sudden movement.

"Shit. Ise sorry Lia."
"She like breathin and stuff still?"

"Yes Racer, did you not just hear 'er a second ago?" Spot snapped.

I heard the sound of knocking on a door.
It made my head spin.
"Olivia! Olivia open up!" Race called.

I heard the door open, then a gasp.
Spot started up the steps and the amount of pain in every jolt made things disappear again.

I could hear panicked Italian muttering as more pain seared through one on my shoulders.

Slowly the pain dulled.
It's still there, just not as bad.

Suddenly I became tired.
So tired.

As I fell asleep I became vaguely aware of someone clutching my hand.

The start of this chapter is kinda wierd cause it was supposed to be two different chapters from that to the next day but they ended up together anyway
