Dear Lily,

I remember when we met. It felt like our souls were naturally intertwined. We were two chubby cheeked little girls in the same math class. It was the first time in elementary school where we'd ever had two teachers. You sat next to me with an anxious smile that day and I just knew. I knew we'd be inseparable.

But I was so very wrong wasn't I? Because now there's this mountain that made its home between us. We weren't the same little girls who played with dolls together. We weren't the same little girls who'd tell all the new people we met that we were sisters. We were no longer tied together like we had been for over half of our lives.

And I don't blame you fully, because I should've know better. Even sugary, sweet candy can leave a bitter taste in your mouth. You were a nice girl back then, but now you're just a monster.

Respectfully,
Lucy
