Y/n P.o.v.

Taking a step back I barely dodged the claw of a beowulf. I steadied my sword arm for a few moments before slashing across it's chest.

It fell to the ground and turned slowly to dust as I stepped back. That was the last of them this time.

I had taken a job for a small village and it was just to clear out the surroundings of any Grimm. It was a rather easy mission.

I used my arm to move the cloak for a moment sheathing my sword. I started to make my way to the village giving a brief glance. I had thought I cleared them all out but it was best to be safe.

Making my way to the village I noticed a few brief looks in my direction and even the occasional wave by the more friendly of the people. Each of which I returned with a brief nod my face perfectly calm.

But what I saw that was odd was the village elder along with a few others people gathered around the center of the town. This was odd. Most of the time everyone would be doing a number of jobs and the elder would be inside his house and only came out when it was important.

I was going to walk towards the stable that they were letting me sleep in before the elder started calling out for me.

Elder:" Mr. Eisner! Mr. Eisner!" He said raising his gravelly voice.

Without a second word I turned my whole body making my way towards him. After all I wouldn't want to anger the person that was paying me. That would be bad for business.

After I got closer I saw two people that I did not recognize. One was a man with grayish hair and a pair of black glasses in a green suit of some sorts. The second was a woman with glasses like the man but they looked more normal. She had blonde hair but i couldn't tell much more since I could only see their sides.

But they turned towards me and I immediately learned something from looking into their eyes for a few fractions of a second. Both of them had seen combat many a time. So however they were here they were dead serious.

Man:" Ah. I see so you are the mercenary I have heard so much about. It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Ozpin. And this is Glynda one of my associates. Can I ask who you are?"

Y/n:"My name is Byleth. Byleth Eisner. As the elder said." I said with a brief bow.

I did not want to have a fight so close to town. I didn't know how strong they could be so taking them out also crossed my mind for a few moments. But either way this wasn't the time nor the place.

I had yet to get paid.

Ozpin:" Ah then. Mr. Eisner I was wondering if I could speak to you about a business opportunity?"

But oddly the moment he said that the woman who I now knew as Glynda seemed to become irritated. I made a mental note to try and watch out for anything like that happening again.

Elder:" You can all use my office for privacy for a little while. We don't want anyone to hear anything they shouldn't have." The elder said with a nod.

I followed him with the other two behind me. Something I very much did not like. I didn't know them well enough to know they either wouldn't attack me or their attacks would have no effect.

But luckily this was short lived when the elder lead us to a room filled with multiple bookshelves. I had actually only been in this room once before when I first arrived at this village roughly a month back.

Elder:"I will leave you all to your business then. Just come out when you are done with your discussion." He said giving us a wide smile before leaving the three of us alone.
