"How are things?" Billie asked as I put breakfast on the table.

"Good, Tom has already passed grade three so he's doing grade four work."

"Good job!" Billie said hugging him making him laugh.

"I sing the alphabet." Bennie smiled.

"Show me!" Billie said happily. As Bennie sang it, I leaned against the counter and held my cup of now cold coffee. How different things could have been- Gemma no, stop thinking. Don't. I went to the living room and grabbed my phone, lia had texted me.

'From one meeting to the next, God I miss you. I wish I was home.'

'I miss you too' I sent and shoved my phone is my robe pocket.

"Hey." Billie said walking into the living room.

"Hey."

"How are things going? Being newlyweds and all."

"Really good, actually." I nodded.

"Thats good, she treats you good?"

"She treats me the best, are you with anyone?"

"No, not really in the place for that." It was quiet for a few minutes.

"How's Maggie and Patrick?"

"I know you have been seeing mom."

"Oh."

"And Lia really doesn't mind?"

"She gets what we hav- had. She knows it wasn't just some... puppy dog love thing."

"Wouldn't that make it worst?"

"She knows it's over, over. She trusts me."

"And Troain?" She asked making me smile.

"She would kill Troian if she came within 100 feet of me and the kids." Billie laughed.

"Good, she's smart."

"Yeye." Tom ran out.

"Yes, buddy?"

"Can I go on the bus again!?" He held up the picture.

"Maybe." She smiled looking at me.

"Really?" He asked.

"Maybe you Bennie and your moms can come."

"Yeah!" He looked at me excitedly.

"Sure." I smiled hating lia for getting Billie back in my life.

"Can we watch a movie?" He asked me and then looked at Billie.

"I'm free." Billie nodded, he took her hand and pulled her to his room. He turns on Spiderman and patted the bed for her to sit, Bennie ran in as soon as she heard the intro and Billie picked her up.

"Mama, you gonna watch?" Bennie asked.

"I'm going to clean away ok?" She nodded and Billie looked at me. I left the room and sighed. I washed the dishes and put them away, I looked at the time to see the movie should soon be over. As I made my way down the hall I heard the front door open.

"Baby girl." I turned and ran to the door.

"Why are you home?" I asked hugging her.

"Well, I can go back if-"

"No! I just thought you had a full day?"

"I did, but the rest of my work I can do from home. Where are the kids?" She kissed me lightly.

"Watching Spiderman," she walked toward the hall. "With Billie."

"Billie?" She asked.

"I'm sorry, I didn't expect her to come today."

"Baby, it's ok." She kissed my head and ran a hand through my hair.

"God I love you, Lia." I let out a breath.

"I love you to baby girl." Lia looked in the room and they were all asleep. I went to walk in but Lia took my hand.

"Leave 'em." She pulled me into her office and kissed me, I kissed back and she smiled down at me. "You ok?"

"It's just weird." I shrugged, she grabbed my hips and lifted me to sit on her desk.

"Do you miss her?" I shook my head no. She kissed me lightly and I wrapped my arms around her neck, the kiss deepened.

"I should cook dinner..." I mumbled.

"Um." She kissed me again and I smiled.

"Babe."

"What?" She kissed me again making me laugh. "Want me to stop?" She asked.

"Um..." she kissed me again and then laughed. "You have work to do."

"I can't wait till tonight."

"Oh ya?" I asked.

"Huhum." I heard laughing come from Tom's room so I knew they were up.

"Hey." Lia walking in.

"Mommy!" Bennie ran to her.

"Mom, Billie said we can go on the bus again!" Tom said hugging Billie.

"Really?" Lia asked.

"Yeah! Mama broke her hand 'member?" He asked looking at Billie.

"I remember, you remember when you cut your hand?" She asked.

"He has a scar," I said kneeling by the bed and taking Tom's hand in mine showing her.

"Ouch, that hurt." Lia said and Tom laughed.

"Nope, I'm tough." He shrugged making me laugh.
