Chapter-56 Life and death!!

"We are checking her for internal injuries because itne fatal accident se bahot him mushkil hai ki koi andhruni chot na aayi ho, jese hi x rays aayenge we would see ki aage kya karna hai. Abhi lets just hope ki bleeding stop ho jae. Tab tak aap please koi blood relatives hain to unhe bula lijiye coz blood ki zaroorat padh sakti hai."

Rey looked at him and nodded, standing up he was going to go out of the room when he turned around to ask the doctor,

"Doctor kya main Taani se mil sakta hun?"

The doctor passed him a small smile saying,

"Sorry Mr. Singhania, ICU mein jana mana hai, aap unhe bahar se dekh sakte hain. But andar nahi...."

Rey looked at him literally pleading,

"Please doctor, just once. I promise I won't touch anything or do anything. Please really need to see her. Just once. Please"

The doctor sighed, thinking for a moment he looked at Rey, he could say he was madly in love with the girl lying there in the ICU so he gave up and said,

"Thik hai, but just for 5 mins. I will tell the nurse to provide you the clothes. And andar jane se pehle aapko apni body sanitise karni hogi. And proper cover hoker andar jana hoga, patient ko infection ka khatra ho sakta hai."

Rey nodded looking at the doctor graciously,

"Thank you doctor!"

He patted Rey's back in comfort before calling the nurse and giving her instructions. After getting sanitised and wearing green robe along with mask and cap, Rey entered the ICU. There she was lying on the bed lifelessly, monitors attached to her counting her breaths and hearbeats. Drips attached to her while blood was being transferred in her body through another one. Her forehead had a small bandage while plaster was casted on her hand and one on her leg. Various bandages were there on her whole body and she was just lying there with closed eyes. Her skin was pale along with her lips, the slight red hue she always had which always brightened up his world was nowhere to be seen now.

His heart dropped in his stomach seeing his life, his jaan lying there fighting with her life. He walked towards her and stood beside her bed. Her face had a breathing mask hiding her beautiful self from his eyes. The tears which he kept at bay started running down his eyes,

"Jaan! I am sorry, meri wajah se tum aaj yahan ho. Agar uss din vo sab nahi kaha hota to tum aaj mere sath hoti, meri arms mein humesha ki tarah, smiling and laughing, and I would have been loving you till you asked me to stop. I am sorry, please maaf kardo. Itni badi punishment mat dena mujhe, please!"

Saying that he took her hand in his, holding it closer to his lips he kissed it, then caressed her head slightly along with her bandages as if taking her pain away, soon the nurse called him out,

"Sir, ab aapko bahar jana hoga please. Aap isse zyada yahan nahi ruk sakte."

Rey nodded, his eyes refusing to move away from Taani, bending down he placed a last kiss on her forehead saying,

"I love you meri jaan!"

He came out of the ICU removing the hospital clothes, and as soon as he was back he slumped on the chairs on the side of the corridor when he remembered he still haven't informed Swayam and others about it. But he didn't knew how to tell them that. Mustering enough courage he dialled Swayam's number, he picked up after the second ring,

"Yeah bro say! Taani aagayi kya wapas?"

Hearing her name Rey brust in tears, he was crying, Swayam was confused hearing his sobs so he asked him,

"Rey what happened? Are you crying?"

Rey was weeping and found it difficult to say anything, he was fumbling with words but still calming himself down and wiping his tears he spoke the words he dreaded,

"Swayam Taani ka accident ho gaya hai, she is in the ICU. Please come to city hospital."

And the next thing, the call disconnected instantly. Soemwhere he expected this reaction, after all Taani is Swayam's baby sister, he always said she his his first baby and will always be and hearing that she is in ICU fighting for her life would surely send him in a frizzy. He kept his phone aside and sat there thinking about what all happened, how the things got so ugly that here they are at this point where he doesn't even know if she will be there with him again or not. Even the thought of her leaving him like this sends shivers down his spine. His body trembled thinking about her absence in his life, he couldn't even live for a month without her. He died everyday then how would he be able to live without her if god forbid something happened to her.

Tears were continuously running down his eyes and he was just sitting there folding his hands, when a frantic looking Swayam came running there along with Sharon and behind them the whole gang. Swayam say him sitting there with his head bend down, he went to Rey and held him sitting on floor in front of him,

"Rey, Taani kahan hai? Kya hua usse?"

He was silently sitting there crying when Sharon asked him again,

"Rey bol na Taani kahan hai?"

Even she had tears in her eyes along with the gang, Rey couldn't even speak a single word when Swayam lost his cool,

"Will you speak something dammit! Where is my sister?"

Rey looked at Swayam and finally broke down, he hugged Swayam tightly crying loudly like his soul was leaving his body and he was in pain, extreme pain.

"Swa..Swayam.... Vo..vo Taani...ICU....mein....., Acc..accident.....Doctor ne...kaha...kaha hai ki blood....blood zyada loss hua hai. Abh...abhi internal...injuries check..check ho rahi hai. Fir hi.. kuch bat...bata paenge."

Rey told him with so much difficulty, he was stammering and breathing heavily. Swayam too broke down at this point and embraced him back tightly crying on each other's shoulder. After both of their's life was lying there in the ICU and they could do nothing about it. Swayam tried to handle himself because he knew he had to stay strong for Rey, so he patted his back,

"Rey..Rey chal chup. Vo Taani hai hamari Taani. Kuch nahi hua hoga usse. Abhi doctors ne kaha hai na ki internal injuries ka kuch nahi pata. Kya pata koi internal injury ho hi na. Right?"

Rey nodded but he was still hugging him tightly, crying. He looked broken, shattered and what not. The whole gang was in tears seeing him like that. They knew what happens to Rey when Taani isn't present in his life, he becomes a lifeless soul, they had seen him breaking down completely after she left him. Only god knows what will happen to him if something happened to taani. Not just him, thay all were concerned for Taani too, after all she is also their friend and now like a family.

Sharon moved towards the duo and sat beside them keeping her hand on Rey's shoulder,

"Rey God par bharosa rakho. Taani ko kuch nahi hoga. She is fighter, hum sabse zyada strong hai vo. Vo isse bhi fight karegior dekhna fir hum sabke pas vaapis aa jayegi."

Rey looked at her with his bloodshot red eyes and said,

"I hope jo tum keh rahi ho vesa hi ho Sharon, nahi to mujhe nahi pata main kya kar baithunga."
